1 - yes 2 - standard is "harder" to suck on (keep it clean people!), and the LR is softer and produces more vapour... or at least thats how i view them. 3 - outside in the sunshine!

LOL! I know exactly what you mean... I had an OMG-PUKE moment when i realised my entire house stunk of fags!
However, I freely admit to still loving the smell of a freshly opened box of cigs.
I've voweed I wont become one of those ex smokers who go all militant about smoking (but its would be so easy to!).

so long as you have got them properly clean, then donate them to your local kids scrapstore. My kids use similar droppers for painting and marbling at their after school club and most of it came from the scrapstore. Find your nearest scrapstore here: www.childrensscrapstore.co.uk/

Ive tried to quit umpteen times with the use of various nicotine replacement therapies or drugs (champix, zyban) and with absoloutly no success.
However swapping to an e-cig was a cinch! I caved my first weekend and smoked a couple of fags, and nothing since... its been so easy to swap over to the newer healthier alternative.
As for the health implications, there are a number of reports out there from studies and analysis on them.
IMO Whilst there is some concern that there are health considerations with e-cigs, they are a much healthier alternative to real tobacco.

forgot to say... the system for charging is virtually the same
You unscrew the battery (your white bit), and charge it you have an atomizer that fits onto the charged battery you have a cartridge which fits into the atomizer (this stores your juice)
On top of those with the tornegoriva standard system you have a cone which protects your fingers from getting burnt from a heating atomizer and makes the unit look more streamlined. You dont have a cone with the Tank system as its pre-built onto the atomizer.

ok river
the riva510/tornedo/ego are all virtually the same battery.
There are (i think?) 3 battery sizes, approx 650 (standard), 900 (called either xl or egoT) + 1100 (xxl). The size denotes how much power the battery holds, so the higher the number the longer it will last. A battery will last longer imo with the standard 510 atty system than with the tank system.... but thats on VERY limited experience.
They all use: standard 510 atties + 510cartridges/driptips LR 510 atties + 510 cartidges/driptips
OR
EgoT atties + Tank cartridges LR EgoT atties + Tank cartridges
To make an ego tank, all you need are the Tank atties and cartridges, they will all fit and work on any of the batteries.
Its really up to you whether you buy a standard or tank system to begin with, as you can always buy the other atties+carts later.
There are other options for this system, cartomizers, cleromizers, smartcarts, xl carts and xl atties, but I dont have experience of these so cant really comment.
Hopefully one of our more experienced members will be along to fill you in properly, and correct me where/if i have gone wrong.

oh i dunno river... I've actually LOST weight since switching! Now when I get a chocolate craving I reach for the riva In fact... perhaps that could be our new marketing ploy. Forget about the tobacco alternatives and the word games. Market them as the new appetite supressor

chrissie, I dont see much difference in performance than the ego.... what i do notice is that i prefer the button on the riva to the ego's hard plastic one. The ego button leaves a dent in my fingers after a short time of vaping.

Hiya River, I'm a newbie too (5 weeks in), and started with a KR808d-1 kit which I still use for little trips or for the school runs when I want something less conspicuous. The riva for me is fantastic, the battery life is the biggest improvement above the smaller mini kits. I have 2 riva standard batteries, and now 2 ego xl batteries. They are all interchangable with any of the tornedo/riva/ego gear which makes it much more user friendly imo. Personally I prefer the LR atties, and 5 weeks in have just killed my first one. What i do to make my riva perform better is this... use the blue foam in the carts instead of the white fluff that comes in them. I also use a drip tip when at home as this gives even better flavour. If I'm going out for the day I have just started using a tank attie. I have the LR ones, and for me the LR tank atties are a bit like sucking on air (you still get the vapour and throat hit just a very very light draw), so I'm going to give the standard tank atties a go.... especially as a new version has just hit the stores in the usa. I've just got my first mods.... but not used yet as i am waiting for the batteries and chargers to arrive, and I'm sure these will be even better than the riva. However i still cant see me leaving the trusty riva alone for long. I think they are excellent... just wish you could replace the battery component as cheaply as you can with a mod. All in all for flavour, battery life and reliability vs cost they are a winner with me
