Hi - just registered and have been reading various beginners threads for the last week. I'm getting to grips with the terms but am a bit lost as to where to start. I'm 43 and have been smoking since I was 14. I smoke about 100 a week. I gave up once for a year with the help of patches but that was 6 years ago now. I want to give up the analogues (new term ) for various reasons - health/cost/smell/anti-social. BUT I like and enjoy smoking, so I thought I'd give ecigs a go. I've bought a nicolite disposable and so far have replaced a few analogues a day - 1st one in the morning, 1 after dinner and a mid evening one. I don't smoke during the day at work and have been working the last 3 days so they tend to be my lighter smoking days. No work tomorrow so remains to be seen how many I replace. The nicolite takes away the craving but I'm a bit dissatisfied with the taste and amount of vapour. A long draw seems to give about half the vapour of a normal draw on an analogue. What do I buy? On threads one person recommends one thing, someone else another and someone else another and I'm getting lost. I mostly smoke at home so I don't think battery life is too much of an issue. I'd like something that's easy to use, is not too big and gives me that inhale/exhale experience that I enjoy from the analogues. I don't want to spend fortunes until I know it works for me - which seems a bit daft to say seeing as I spend £38 per week on analogues!

Hello and welcome Most people here moved onto a Riva/Ego type kit which gives you everything you need to get started apart from liquid. Riva 1100mah deluxe kitAnd welcome to the world of vaping (I was lost when I started and I'm a technical person... erm... nerd ), it is confusing at first but people on here are experienced and gentle with new members of the gang

Hi Nbee84 and welcome to the forum. For what you spend a week on fags, you could buy yourself a decent e-gig kit and some e-juice and that kit would last you a very long time. www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-ve-riva-1100-deluxe-kit~151That same vendor will supply you with e-juice samplers (5ml ea) to get you started and help you to decide on an e-juice that pleases you. 8 months ago I was on 40 fags a day. for the last 7 months I have been 100% vaping. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Hi nbee and welcome. I was completely lost and my head was hurting from all the info on different e-cigs last week, until I found this place. I also wanted a ciga-like type, but listened to the experience of the people here and went for the Riva. If you could stretch that budget to around £40-£45 you'll end up with a very decent bit of kit and a variety of sample flavours to get you on your feet. Since I got my Riva and samples last friday I haven't touched one analogue and I was smoking around 30-40 roll ups per day until then. The people here are impartial and although it may sound like we all have shares in Riva and vapeescape, they/we are only pointing you towards what they/we know works for so many others. Good luck, you're not lost anymore.

Nicolite and all those type are not very good. Despite what they "claim" it's highly unlikely you will quit tobacco easily without upgrading, as the amount of nicotine these sort of products offer in reality is not very much. You might be OK using these as a 10-15 a day smoker, but I suspect not. Get yourself a better kit if these don't do it for you either in terms of nicotine or "experience". Riva? Double ego kit?

P.S. Even the "best-of-the-best" of the mini e-cigs really don't offer a great vape.
e-cigs such as JacVapour V3 and Innokin AIO are far superior to the "big boys" in the mini e-cig world. I loved my JacVapour e-cgis, but I still couldn't entirely quit tobacco on them.
The Riva kit from VapeEscape was the turning point. Since then, plain sailing.

Thank you for such a lovely welcome Right.... will take the plunge with the Riva. I'd already noticed that it gets mentioned a lot. Will I get that inhale/exhale hit that I desire? I think that's what is missing most from the nicolite. What flavours do people recommend for beginners. I realise that everyone has personal tastes but what do people tend to go for when they start out? I'm a B&H Gold smoker.

Juice and attys are the most important initially imho. The rest isjust about battery life. Also important but chargingdiscipline is needed. I had a Riva with tank attys but hated them. Nowt to do with the batteries. Going with Riva/egos gives you the best cost effective platform

Hi again
Re juice - dont think you will want tobacco flavour juices once you start
My first order I got 6 tobacco flavours - cherry and menthol
Quickly put in another order for different flavours lol
ok cherry is still my fav but banofee is great if you have a sweet tooth
just get the 5ml bottles til you work out what you like.
