I think there is a lot of truth in the theory of privilege and public school backgrounds. Do they deserve a decent wage? Of course, but then so do the rest of us. To assess how important a persons job is, see what happens if they strike for a fortnight. Who would we miss first, the politicians, or the sewage workers? I have no doubt that some politicians start with high ideals and principals. When they find that they can not change anything, they become disillusioned. When they see those around them accepting Brown Envelopes, they think " oh fook it" and hold their hands out with the rest. Be honest, how many of us could resist. Cynical, moi?

Not only do they get two and a half hours for lunch, they also get 300 Euro per day meal allowance. There is a lavish "works canteen" where they eat for free, complete with wine of course.

Quote "None of the approved, regulated smoking cessation aides, nicotine patches, chewing gum, delivers nicotine to the lungs like e cigs" Oh yea, then what about nicotine inhalers. There`s a clue right there, in the name.
"Propylene Glycol, a known irritant when inhaled. " Shame about asthma inhalers then.
WHO, a known irritant full stop. And a bunch of bloody liars.

If you look on the "Whats on the agenda" page it mentions something like "support for developing safer sources of nicotine" but there are no specific references.

This was quite a positive article, especially from the BBC. All they need to do now is make an hour-long documentary and show it on Panarama.

This is so good that I hate to criticise it. Just one small point. Although NRT is a big market, it is only about 1% of the total amount made by Big PHarma out of smoking. The biggest deal is the sale of drugs used to treat smoking related diseases such as COP and cancer. A very well weritten article.

This is morally reprehensible and indefensible. So people who are paying out of their own pockets to improve their health, when the "official system" proved to be incapable of helping them, are to be financially penalised. Worse still it sets a precedent for other nations to follow suit.

So just to recap. £150 for a kit that comes with one battery, and presumably uses pre-filled carts at an unknown price. [clue, it will not be cheap] A wide choice of flavours, if you regard one as a wide choice. A single choice of nicotine strength, which may, or not, appeal to a very few people for their first week of vaping. And their "Mission Statement" is to make conventional cigarettes obsolete? My Mission Statement is to avoid dealing with any company that has a mission statement. I think they are dreaming.

I agree that it sounds disgusting. But either this has been misreported, or someone hasn`t a clue what he/she is talking about.

Has anyone else noticed the use of the phrase "nicotine laced liquid" in so many of these articles? I have looked up "laced" used in this context in the dictionary. Journalists think they know what it means, but they obviously do not. Suppose you bought a drug on the street in the form of a white powder, that I will not name. To increase his profit, the dealer has added a percentage of talcum powder. So the drug can be said to be "laced" with talcum powder.
Another example would be adding a "date rape" drug to an alcoholic drink, so one could say, "her wine was laced with rhohypnol". So why would anyone "lace" an e liquid with nicotine? Not to cut costs, because nicotine is the most expensive ingredient of an e liquid. Not to cause unexpected intoxication, because the user expects, and pays for, the nicotine, which in any case is singularly ineffective as a date rape drug. Journalists should restrict themselves to talking about lacing as something they do to their shoes, if indeed they are capable of that.

I dont think any of us liked this article. As far as I could see, it was all about "cool". I suspect most of us are old enough to see beyond cool. To some of us, it is about prolonging our lives. The writer implies that whilst smoking is cool, vaping is not. So tell me, what is cool about a corpse?

I enjoyed watching this video. I found it effective because you appeared natural on camera, you were being yourself. You clearly explain the difference between a modern e cig and a cigalike. Cigalikes have a place, and are what got most of us started, but it is not long before their inadequacies are revealed. Long term success depends on better gear to progress to.
