£17K strikes me as very reasonable to get a bit of EU legislation quashed. I'm sure we could raise that.
How do you go about it? I searched eBay for 'Corrupt MP', but it didn't come up with anything useful.

Greigster. You should have asked us : Any Honest, hard working, worth their pay politicians , do we know of. Answer is NO.NO.NO.
All are money grabbing `barstewards`, without exception.
No apologies for this post, I believe in what I have just written.
"F**K them all.

I really do think there are some that try to change the world but I have my doubts a lot of them ever get very far.

No surprise there.
They are career politicians, they do it for the money!
That alone makes the whole system corrupt.

That's the problem when the vast majority of politicians are recruited from public schools - they're used to privilege and expect it. Privilege, after all, means 'private law'.
On the one hand, I believe anyone serving the country has a right to a fair and decent wage with decent benefits. On the other, they then have the absolute responsibility to do their utmost best for the country that is funding them. Too many of these...people....have £££s in their eyes. They get elected (or not, as is the case with the current lot), set up their own careers so as to secure their own future, screw the country whilst they're in and then enjoy their 'retirement' having amassed enormous wealth off the backs of the rest of us. Whatever happened to the £20 corporate gift rule??

I think there is a lot of truth in the theory of privilege and public school backgrounds. Do they deserve a decent wage? Of course, but then so do the rest of us. To assess how important a persons job is, see what happens if they strike for a fortnight. Who would we miss first, the politicians, or the sewage workers? I have no doubt that some politicians start with high ideals and principals. When they find that they can not change anything, they become disillusioned. When they see those around them accepting Brown Envelopes, they think " oh fook it" and hold their hands out with the rest. Be honest, how many of us could resist. Cynical, moi?

Surely taking services/treats off a company is worse than being paid directly? (less transparent and also tax free) I would call paying for MPs entertainment and buying them "stuff" is bribery...and accepting such favours is accepting bribes? Curious. If I was wined and dined and then had to vote on something, I think my position would be (how would you call it?) compromised? Oh dear.

No surprise there. They are career politicians, they do it for the money! That alone makes the whole system corrupt. Hang on, lets remember what we had before we had paid politicians..... MP's started being paid in 1911, before then you had to be wealthy enough to do it on your own, or to have someone pay you to do it. Obviously you can see the sort of people this bought into politics. And you can bet that they did nothing for the pleb on the street. I don't think people should be allowed to be an MP until they have done 10 years in another job personally, but they should be paid.
