Yeah ebay is the source for most of my parts, but you have to be carfeul choosing. For instance the step up 3v to 5v boards you linked to may at first seem a good deal but then you read the full specs. The boards just wouldn't work right since they are limited to 650mA which is below what attys need. Keep looking though and you can find really useful deals. But those boards would be fine if you just wanted to make something that was charge and vape rather than a Passthru, yes? Tim

Inspired by this, I decided to take apart my Revolution 2 today... I've not done much with it really, was hoping to change the atty connection at the top, but there's a feeder cup for the needle, so decided not to tinker... In the end, I simply cut off the original battery, and soldered longer wire in place.
I then took off the base cap, and cut off the tube that comprised the spare atomiser storage, and super glued the case door on that, so I can't use it...
The last stage involved soldering in place a CR123a battery, and taping things up, and you know what? It works a dream... even the charging circuit still works, and I've had it on charge the last couple of hours (the CR123a was drained), and it functions much better!
Need to clean it up a little, replace the tape I've used for neat insulation, as I had run out I just used some gaffer tape... but will post pics of the internals if anyone is interested?

I've actually just ordered some LR901's from GH1 a couple of weeks ago... of course had I had my crystal ball out I would have known not to... ah well... still I do like their LR510 and LR510 Bridgeless and their BOGE 1.5 Ohm cartos, so I'd better get my thinking cap on about how much I'm going to get in!

I decided to keep it simple amd went for silver with a white LED, but if it turns out to be a good mod, I may well go through all the different mods they have. Love that they do VV versions of all their mods..
The one I went for also has the pulse circuit, will be interesting to see if their battery life claims are true...

Right, just tried to buy the Helix, with two batteries and the charger. The website allows my to specify that i'm from 'Outside the US' in my value for State, but I can't specify a country other than the US, and I can't submit the form as it tells me to select my State...I've mailed them, but for now taking my business elsewhere.

The G-Tank isn't available yet, lots of talk on there, lots of people asking for one but the modder is now working on a battery... IMO this mod is a pipe dream, can't see it ever being released...

I looked at the Helix, but can't get one anywhere ... Perpy, don't tell anyone, but I really really don't like the look of the Empire Mod... drip shield is fine, but the mod looks hideous imho :S eliquidplanet.com/products.php?cat=29Two days ago that site had them showing as out of stock mate. Is that all it is, a tube mod with a big battery? Looks like a silver bullet to me...

I'm sure it will be fixed in future versions. I understand your point about having to take parts from another device. I think it was a quick fix by Imeo, he said the cost of a custom part would be too expensive. Hopefully the iAtty 2 will have addressed this problem. The problem with quick fixes is that they are the ones that come back to bite you... considering the amount of R&D that would have to have been spent on the iAtty in the first place, to ultimately rely on a part that is too expensive to manufacture is a fundamental design flaw, and a design revision should have been called for at that stage. Don't think for a moment that I won't get one, because I will... I just feel that it would have been far better if Imeo had negotiated with Royal Smokers for them to be able to supply the ceramic cups as a part supplier....
