Yes, that's the wick I use.
I make my coils the way that's shown in the video. A 70mm length of wick, folded in half, and a 0.8mm steel rod as a "splint". An 80mm length of 0.16 kanthal wire, with 5 tightly-wound. coils for approx 2ohms

From where do you source the wick you use Steve? I'm using Bulli wick, and 0.16 kanthal wire from the eBay seller.

Phew..... All I need now are some new spectacles so that I can construct a new coil whenever.. Lynda The coil I fit before shipping should last a couple of weeks - long enough to save up for some reading specs! How much wick is needed for the Iatty or Bulli? I use a 70mm piece for my dripper. Even at £1.49 a metre, that's only 11p a shot.

I tried blue foam as a replacement filler for 510 carts. I didn't like it - it can fall out, it sticks to the mesh wick and melts, and it doesn't wick very well. I switched to using Fluval-type polyester filter material, which works better for me. The best I found was sold on eBay as being "fluval compatible", rather than genuine fluval.

Good on you Blakey, phew, glad someone agrees with me.I wont be buying a Darwin,i will just buy Clockworks one out the classifieds instead I really hope that I like it. If I don't, it'll probably get tucked away at the back of a drawer. I'm very good at acquiring things, and rubbish at moving them on again. You never know, though........

Clutter: You can modify a clearo tank to work with cartos - the tube needs shortening, and holes in the end caps need boring out by roughly 0.5mm. Tricky to do without a lathe.
Ian: Tim reckons that the latest Darwin has an extension on the arm to allow the fitting of tanks. Not sure if you can swing it closed with the tank fitted - I hope so.

Burnt filler Which cartos are you using Clockworks?Im using the Boges and never get a burnt filler taste.I suppose its all in the size of the hole, get it rite and your laughing, get it wrong and your swearing :)I also only use tobacco flavours in the tank, beautiful vape.As for the Darwin It dont do it for me at all.Its a combination of the swing arm thing and the built in battery that puts me off.Suppose its great if you can easily solder in a new battery yourself though. Boge LR for me, with a 1.1mm hole. I never get a dry vape, but there's a slow build up of burnt taste over the course of a week or so. It's not a nasty burnt taste, just a hint of bitterness and woodiness. Strong tobaccos juices mask it, but I can taste it with fruit flavours. If you take a well-used carto apart, you'll see where the taste comes from. There's an inner wrap of cloth around the tube/coil, then the fibre wadding around the outside of that. It's the cloth layer that slowly chars and disintegrates. I was in 2 minds about the Darwin, but Tim at Moju assures me that the latest version will take a tank.

Different companies have different fees. Royal Mail is around £8, Parcelforce is £13-odd.

...did anyone mention the Darwin!
I love my homemade atties, but an LR carto in a tank is still my weapon of choice when I'm out and about. Only for tobacco flavours, though, where the faint taste of burnt filler adds to the experience. Not so nice with subtle fruit flavours.

Spent a few evenings with this Attie now and thought I'd report back It's still performing brilliantly no teething problems, no leaks and no loss of performance. Sadly clockworks- you now owe me one bottle of Grizwalds whiskey cream, because of you and YOUR attie I have now completely run out LOL Have you tried cutting your juice with PG or VG? I'm finding that I need less flavour and less nic when I use the dripper, so I can cut it 2:1 with base. I vape more, but it doesn't cost me much more.
