I tried it with a well known tool advertised on the TV, but I ended up with what looked like a flat spot on a Formula 1 tyre! Not surprising really, I'm hopeless at woodwork too ....... Jag. (Fine with a soldering iron .....) |

Okay .... gave the little buggers a thorough wash and clean, then made sure they were as dry as a Camel. Then .... tried them once again .......
Eureka! You were right, Dave, the littler buggers needed to be run in!!

Nice brief outlook.. Not sure I agree about the airiness comment though.. for example, my mega davide is definitely a tighter draw on the svd than the evic... how many holes does your beauty ring have drilled? Just the one. I have two Evics, and they are definitely tighter. Who knows with these things, some of them can be downright eccentric. It certainly isn't anything I will be losing any sleep over. I like the SVD, and the slightly "Airy" draw is just that ...... a small rise in air intake. Now if it started whistling I'd be worried .... Jag. (Will be keeping the SVD.) |

Hi Jaguar7777, not seen the Imist mentioned for quite a while! I've been happily using them (versions 1 and 2) for about 18 months, but others don't get on with them at all If you are getting gurgling, you have probably got some juice in the airholes that go down both sides of the tank - you can remove the tip of the tank (you have to prise it off) which may help if any has got in there, but the holes are very small so all you can really do is blow through them. Dry hits are usually because the wick may need to be pulled down a bit. If you pull it down too far you will notice that the end can get a bit burnt, so just snip it off if it does. Many complain about a lack of flavour and I think this may be because they suit some juices better than others. The other thing is that the atomiser section does need a tank or two to fully break in. They can also taste a bit plasticy at first which puts people off but I've found that reduces over time (mine are very well seasoned now!). Certainly not for everyone, but worth persisting with a bit. In the end these are kind of automatic drippers with a fairly decent atomiser Well, Dave .... I'm a fairly patient fella, and I have done much of what you suggest. I'll leave them a couple of weeks and then give them another go. You never know, I might get lucky! Jag. Like others, in the past, if I was busy I would vape less, but actually up the wattage, so I guess that over the day I would be vaping about the same. Judging by the amount of e-juice I went through this would appear to be correct. But now and without knowing why, my consumption of e-juice has dropped by at least one third. Now whether this is to do with working or whether it is something else, I haven't figured out yet. Not that I am complaining mind you but if this continues, my 11 years supply of Nic Base will grow to 16 years and I will be vaping until I am 82!!!! Anyone know if I can get a battery box that will fit on a Zimmer? A battery box on a Zimmer frame? Ask Raid or Romelee, they can probably figure something out. Jag. (I'm not vaping, I'm merely relaxing ......) |

I should first mention that the Ego X Atomizer is also the Biansi IMist 2.
Okay ..... with that out of the way ... I will continue.
I purchased four of the Ego X Atomizers, they are quite elegant and look to be quite functional. They are very well made, indeed they ooze a certain quality. Then I got around to trying them. Supposedly they don't leak, well they don't, at least not much. The point is, they do leak a little .....
They also gurgle ..... and they also give off the odd dry hit. Time to play around with them .......
Okay, cured the dry hits by priming them. But ... there is also a rather plasticky taste to everything. Time to play around with them, again.
To cut a long story short, I'm fed up playing around with them. Sometimes they leak ever so slightly, sometimes they don't. The plasticky taste is clearly the mouthpiece/tank, and the gurgling is now intermittent, but still there. In short, they are VERY disappointing.
Methinks their claims are somewhat egotistical ..........
