I picked up both of these, and something called Forrest Affair (iirc) at Vapefest. I wouldn't have bought the Red Astaire based on the description - I don't think I could live with an aniseed flavour over any length of time - but I'd endorse Balllsy's comments on both juices. I still wouldn't vape the Red Astaire over long periods, but it certainly makes its presence felt in my dripper, when I pick it out.
The Forrest Affair is quite a strange one. Definitely berry-ish, but with a slightly medicinal air to it (don't tell Linda McAvan), rather like a sweet cough syrup.
I've done my usual routine with these juices: picked them up in 24mg, then taken a sample and diluted 2/1 with VG, giving 16mg and a more amenable (for me) PG/VG ratio. In each case, the reduced flavour has survived the dilution very well, so the juices will go 50% further. Which is nice.

I've had some from UK vendors in the past, can't recall which. They're all much of a muchness, really. Recently I bought a shed-load from China through ebay, and there are issues: despite stating child-proof caps in the product description, they've sent me tamper-evident caps, which aren't really the ticket. Dialogue is continuing on the matter, I have reason to be hopeful they'll put things right. If you go down that route, it might be best to contact the seller in advance, and make sure the caps are what they are claimed to be. Like I didn't.
On edit: they also sent stubby droppers, rather than the pointy ones. Personally I don't mind them, but it's something else you'd want to check in advance. I don't recall ever seeing the shape of the dropper specified in product descriptions, anywhere.

I definitely recommend Torchy. I have some of his own brand 18650s and 18350s, great service, quick delivery... and Glasgow is the UK, for the time being, right?

I made up a 5ml tester of Afro Dizziac yesterday, using 10 drops of flavour (10% at most, closer to 5% I would say) and after 24 hours it seems to be plenty strong enough for me, but I don't like my flavours too strong. I've done another one today of Tangerine Dream, same recipe, see how that tastes tomorrow, although judging from the smell, its the most bitter of the citrus concentrates I've encountered - not in a bad way. One can have too much sweetness.

damn! I saw you were going to flog this, but I wasn't expecting quite this soon. Don't think I can quite do it this month, tempting as it is. GLWTS

My understanding, such as it is, is that menthol doesn't change with steeping, so there's that. I have a black cherry menthol that's about two weeks old at this point. The menthol side of things has remained pretty much the same from the beginning, and now I'm finding the cherry is coming through, changing the balance of the flavour.

Also it does not say how to do the vg/pg ratio like 80/30 or am I missing something? Basically, you're just mixing two liquids, PG and VG. Your nic base is going to be one or other of those (rarely a mixture of the two), and that would count on one side or other of the equation. Flavours are nearly always in PG. The numbers in the PG/VG ratio always add to 100, so 80/30 isn't actually possible. If you're making 10ml, Taking a 70/30 PG/VG ratio as an example, and assuming your nic base and flavourings are PG: The nic base quantity determines the nic strength, obviously - if you're using 54mg base and you want a 16mg result, then your base should be 29-point-something percent of the total (call it thirty, I wouldn't worry about tenths of percentage points, we don't use equipment that measures that accurately, when we're only making 10ml at a time.) If another ten percent is flavouring (also PG), that gives you 4ml, which you top up to 7ml with plain PG, and add 3ml of VG and there you are.

Received my mixing kit today Now to get down to business......I am using the todmuller.com ejuice calculator, nicotine base I presume is 72mg as it says on the bottle. I know the water added is optional but why would you add water in the first place? The flavor % is on 20, is this the standard percentage? Do I need to up it or is it the best amount to start with and add more if needed after steep? Thanks VG is more viscous than PG, so if you're mixing to a higher proportion of VG in your juice, you may want to add the water to thin it a bit. This allows the juice to wick more easily. I dilute my VG with 10 percent de-ionised water as a rule, and forget about adding water to the mix. 20 percent is towards the higher end of the scale for flavour. I suggest you make a small quantity at, say, 10 percent, since obviously you don't know at this point how strong the flavouring is. You can add a bit more later if it isn't doing the business, but reducing the flavour concentration afterwards is more complicated and uses more ingredients.

Dealing with this company has proved to be a bit of a saga. Ordered some wire, wick and mesh on 12th August. Package arrived on the 21st, wick all correct, two extra sheets of mesh, which was nice, but no wire. Called them, they said they'd send it out straight away. A week later, nothing. Called them again, they said they'd send it out straight away. Another week later, nothing. This brings us to yesterday. Called again. The wire arrived this morning: just a spool in a jiffy bag, no documentation, hand-written address. Definitely something wrong with their dispatch process, if you ask me. I won't be in a hurry to use them again.

How much use do you guys find you get from say a 10ml bottle of liquid? I'm doing about 2ml a day, I think. It's a bit soon to tell exactly. It seems to me that if you're going through more than about 3ml a day, I'd say you were really banging it, or you're using some very thirsty hardware, or more likely both.

hello and welcome, wanttoquit (yikes, that username is going to get old for you really quick when you've quit. just sayin' ) As someone who only moved onto more serious kit very recently (after muddling along in a solitary fashion with my cig-alike for six months) I'd urge you to upgrade asap. I only wish I'd known about the alternatives when I started. Or indeed, years ago.

That covers the basics, yes. If you want to get serious about DIY juice, you'll find it's *much* cheaper to buy your ingredients in bulk: think in terms of buying PG, VG and probably nic base by the litre. One of each of those should last you a good long while. I wouldn't buy huge quantities of any particular flavour until you're sure it's something you can work with and you'll use a lot. It looks like a lot of outlay at the beginning, but once you have the ingredients in stock, you can mix perfectly good juice to your exact taste for £1 for 10ml, at most. And there's no reason why you should ever get bored with your juice, ever again.

Hi Debbie and welcome.
I switched to the cig-alikes in January (I wasn't really aware of the alternatives back then) after 40 years of smoking, mostly roll-ups. My strategy was to go over *completely* to using the ecig straight away, and if it really didn't work out for me, I'd go back. I used up the last of my tobacco and told myself, okay, until further notice, this gadget here is where my nicotine is at, so get used to it. After three days, I had a taste of tobacco smoke again, and I couldn't believe how disgusting it was. My point is, the quicker you remove tobacco completely from the picture, the quicker you'll lose the taste for it. That's how it was for me, anyway, and I haven't had a cigarette (or the desire for one) since that day.
I wish you good luck, but I really don't think you'll need it.

I must admit I haven't tried any others yet, but I can attest that Wizmix Rich Bean Rocket is a really excellent coffee juice. If anyone has tried this and the Doppio Espresso, or indeed the Brasiliano, I'd like to hear how they stack up against one another. Meanwhile, I'm totally going to have a try of Ginge's homebrew method. (I'll be experimenting with a few natural ingredients along the same lines, once I have the spare bottles to get on with it. Fresh root ginger, and a few fresh herbs are top of my list.)
