Hi gregb, just got back from the pub Total respect on finding Mrs. Lord's Seville Marmalade so quickly! I only got into it last week, and I've got through more of than than anything else since. I realise it's a substantial investment, but I bought 50ml of the Marmalade last week, I think it's totally worth it. Hangsen Orange is a cheaper, less complicated substitute, but also very vapeable. If your OH likes the orange flavour, I think you might find yourself in seriously good books if you were to put some of the Marmalade in her path... Just doing mah job....

Just tuck them away in cool dark cupboard Greg . . . will you have any eliquid to be going on with whilst they're steeping? Pretty sure someone on here told me that menthol juices don't need steeping, is that right guys? I just caught up with this thread. Hai and welcome gregb! - but this question from lairey didn't get picked up. Menthol itself doesn't need to steep, but if you do a menthol mix - say, a strawberry menthol, for the sake of argument - the menthol will be there from the outset, and you may not get the strawberry coming through as much as you would like. If you leave the juice to steep, the strawberry will come forward in the mix and make its presence felt. So if you're doing a menthol mix, don't be tempted to slosh in more of whatever you're mixing it with, until it has steeped for at least a few days. Longer if we're talking about tobacco flavours.

I haven't had any trouble with the First Cig of the Day Problem - I was one of the lucky ones who switched completely and instantly, and I've never had any serious cravings since - but what flavour to go for first thing in the morning can be a tricky one.
I found fruit flavours, not too sweet, worked pretty well for me. Blackcurrant especially. Lately I've been introduced to Mrs. Lord's Seville Marmalade, and that's been my first vape of the day for the last few. Delicious with coffee. Mrs. Lord's only sells to registered customers though, and I'm not sure whether they're open for new customers at the moment. If they're not, keep an eye on the site, no doubt they'll re-open it when the next batch comes around. And while you're waiting for that, Hangsen Orange is an acceptable substitute; a little sweeter and less complicated than the Marmalade, but otherwise quite similar.

I'm on the UKV list, you could add me on here too, but I'll only be turning up once.

Extra tip, if your Fogger is flooding, as mine did, a lot: trim the wick ends about 7-8mm outside the chamber, rather than flush with the walls. Then fold the ends back over and tuck them down onto the deck. They will soak up any stray juice that might otherwise drain into the airway. You can do this with either cotton or silica. Obviously not with a mesh wick, but very few people have reported success with the stock mesh wicks at all.

+1 for the Igo-L. Simple and very effective. I have about a dozen other drippers on my Fasttech wish list, and yet I'm tempted to just get another Igo.

A very nice collection, but what I do not understand is that on one hand we condemn the use of Cig-a-likes because they imitate e-cigs as cigarettes, yet on the other hand, e-pipes that look like tobacco pipes are okay? Nope. You've lost me there! I think "condemn" is too strong a word. Cig-alikes have their place, as something that cigarette smokers can switch to, as a proof-of-concept, something that can and do get people away from smoking. Most of us started with them; I got through my first six months with a single rechargeable cig-alike. Many, probably a majority at this point (though obviously not a majority of those who frequent the vaping forums) stay with cig-alikes. But then, as we discover the shortcomings of cig-alikes relative to other PVs, we upgrade. Some more than others. Pipes are a different matter. E-pipes are (mostly) using refillable systems from the outset: clearos, carto tanks, and so on. There's no need to change the form factor, and the culture of pipe design is already rich and varied (as we see here). There's no strong argument for departing from it, that I can see.

Okay then, I count no less than five different things I've (maybe) been doing wrong. I imagine at least some of that lot should give me some scope for improvement. Thanks Rom

Great stuff Rom Does look like i could get someone pregnant though with this stuff Maybe that's how it got its name. Just a thought. I've just made up a bottle from concentrate at 10 percent, it was clear until I gave the finished mix a shake. Was quite startled at the result. I was all set to open a thread on the subject, and here you all were, way ahead of me. Not for the first time, nor (I expect) the last.
