Hi, brand new to this so looking for some advice. My wife and I both smoke around 20 super kings a day ( for 30 years+) and decided to give this vaping a go. I had a recommendation from someone at work to try the mirage Eros. I've since reason here there not the best value or quality. Quick service though, ordered Friday lunch and arrived Saturday lunch. I fired it up straightaway and after the initial spluttering, me not the Eros, I'm 24 hours in without resorting to a ciggie, my wife not doing so well but she is trying. So my plan was to order another eroskit so we had two each to allow constant availability. However having been overwhelmed by the info in here with battery sizes, variable voltage, bigger this bigger that I know not sure what to do.so my question is what woul you recommend as a starter kit, I,m happy to use the Eros until its goosed but hesitant to buy additional batteries etc for it if I can replace with something better ideally with a battery that will last a day or so.

Hi Greg, welcome to AAEC, do you have a link to your current setup? Also are you looking at something the same size as a ciggy or are you ok going for something bigger?

Hi Rosco here's the link www.miragecigarettes.co.uk/shop/eros-ce4-electronic-cigarette-starter-kit.html I'm happy with the size of the unit in above link as its ideal for work / pocket. But I'd like the flexibility to maybe have an option for bigger batteries and tanks etc when at home. The other thing is I'd like to try lots of different juices but I guess this means either buying lots of Clearomisers or lots of cleaning them out.

GregThe Eros isn't too bad, but the CE4 that it comes with is a bit outdated, and you'll get the battery cheaper from ecigs-scotland. The main thing wrong with the CE4 is that when the coil in it gets gunked up you have to replace the whole unit, rather than just the head, which makes it about twice as expensive to run. How long it takes to gunk up depends on various things, but it might be once a week. Also I think most people would say that you get a better vape from an evod or iclear.

I'm liking vapeland link, seems too cheap to be true. I could get two of those kits for similar to what I paid for the one kit I have now. Thanks I might just order them.

Greg please check out evod kits and innokin iclear16 kits as these would be a step up again from the vapeland kits.

Thanks Gilles I understand much of what you say regarding ce4 and costs but I now have the vapeland starter kit Rosco suggested and now evod and I clear suggestions from you which I don't understand, I welcome all the advice I can get but now not sure what kits you refer too or which of the three suggestions to go for, I see I have a lot to learn.

Hi Greg and Fellow newbie here I've learnt a lot in the few days that I've been here thanks to the advice and info from the forum! I think your starter kit is very similar to the one I got last week... here is my intro thread, lots of great advice and relatively easy to understand Am now on day 3 of completely stinkie free! For samples, I've found joosejuice.co.uk really good for flavours that aren't plain tobacco, although their black gold is lovely (tobacco & honey)... Also, check out smokerainbow.com, they just sell 1ml samples, for around 50-60p a go... not received my order from them yet, but a very cheap way to try lots of different flavours...

Hi gregb
It's a case of finding the right cartomiser, atomiser or drip-tip combined with a suitable liquid that gives a good throat hit when you inhale and a reasonable amount of smoke when you exhale.
If you use a battery that has an adjustable voltage you can get a chart to show how to set up the e-cig for maximum satisfaction. The cartomiser, atomiser has an ohm rating (this is usually shown on the top, the voltage is usually shown on the side of the chart). If you are not sure which is which, ohms is the lower range of numbers. The chart will have a coloured "sweet" area and you are looking to get a reading in here. With a cartomiser/atomiser with an ohm rating of 2.4 and a battery voltage setting of 4.8 you would be in the "sweet" area.
This could help your wife stay off the ciggies with a bit of luck; I have been 7 months totally free from ciggies, my son is over 2 years and counting.
I was going to upload a picture but the site has reached its limit for uploading, sorry.

I agree with the evod kits . Evods are very easy to get used to easy to fill, great vapour . Good luck to you both remember you are not stopping smoking just changing the way you get your nicotine with the advantage of saving your health ( and pocket )
