Incidentally, I recently found that you can swap the screw in the hybrid adapter for a nemesis 510 pin - it gives you loads more options as to what batteries you can use, if (like me) you have tubes from various different places.

Worth a try ionianWas talking to Kaan at Fakirs & Troy X is now discontinued in favour of an upcoming dual coil version, so classies is the only way to get one, shame as it's one of the best day to day atties i've had to date. That's a shame, it's a great atty. Surely a dual coil design would appear to a different market, it seems silly to drop one for the other when they already have a good product and could sell both. If I change my mind at any point in the future I'll let you know, but it's unlikely!

I have changed the wick over, not touched the coil, just the wick and it's so much better now. I had just made an assumption that Japanese cotton would be better based on people online. There is one difference with the cotton I'm using, it's been sat loose in a box for months, where as the koh gen do is just bought. Maybe the normal cotton is drier and therefore more absorbent? Your old cotton is probably less dense, so it absorbing quicker but with less juice so the coil gets slightly hotter (maybe, not sure of the actual physics on this). Either way, your vape has to be right for you - so if standard cotton works, there's no need to use something else just because others like it. I've not tried Japanese cotton because for my set-ups a normal bit of cotton wool gives me a great vape, plus I can stock up from mrs ionian's make-up supply at no extra cost!

Can you wiggle the terminal that attaches to the pin on top of the deck? You might be able to get some movement there.
Is your stingray pin flat headed on the base? Any way you can get something between the pin and delrin and loosen it here?
If that doesn't work, try putting it in the freezer for an hour, then brute force it.

Thanks, I will try just swapping the wick out then. Is it possible that there is too much wick in and around the coil? As I've noticed the crackling sound when it's firing is a lot less clear than it was before and sounds muffled If you have too much wick you can taste the cotton. It's possible you have more than before, in my experience the crackling happens with less rather than more wick, but don't overdo it when you take it out or you'll have flooding issues.

For a constant 8.5w you can't go wrong with the coolfire. The stingray and nemesis are mechs, so the power will drop off with battery wear unless you use a kick - but for what you want, the coolfire does it in one easy package. Plus it takes 18350s or 18650s, so plenty of life in the bigger battery, or small and stealthy options available.

It's likely to be the change in wicking material that's changed the vape - as you are on a vw device, the changes you've made to the coil shouldn't make too much difference. Height above air hole does make a small difference, but the further away from the air the harsher the vape in my experience, so it's unlikely to be that.
I've not tried Japanese cotton so can't comment on the differences but different wicks absorb juice at different rates and move juice to the coil at different rates, so that's why I think that's your issue.
I'd keep the same build, and change back to normal cotton to see if that helps.
If not, it's possible your throat has just got used to the juice you are using causing flavour fatigue. A change of juice might be the best option, just to let your taste buds have a change.

A bit of a mish-mash, but makes a great tiny set-up! Gus G22 18350 tube with a Paps button and troy X in dripper mode with a nemesis 510 pin. All rounded off with Billy's Caramel Latte - very civilized.

I know you've already sorted your RBA but I thought I'd just say that the Heron is the easiest Tank I've ever built on !!! I've got three of them and they take about five minutes to set up,unfortunately there's only FT selling them and without the GP logo now!!! I have to say I agree with this. The Heron clone from FT is very good, so much so that I've bought a real one one the strength of the clone (which although expensive, is absolutely brilliant). Although you're sorted, it's certainly worth considering for the future - the deck is large and easy to build, and it's pretty much bomb-proof - plus flavour is as good as I've ever had around the 1 ohm mark. If you do get a a Heron clone, I'd recommend getting a 20x1 mod for it to sit on - the clone 510 adapter is huge, and adds about 1cm to the size, but as a hybrid on a tube it's a perfect pocket-sized atty.

Okay guys. I have one question about the istick toilet seat.....how do you manage to vape with the drip tip right next to the controls? I mean I thought liquids and lithium don't mix I don't think it can be used while in the flaccid position (!) because it looks like it only makes a connection when the atty is erect (ahem). I think it's just for eas of carrying. A shame, as It would work well with the atty alongside if it was on the other edge.

It strikes me that you need to attack this on two fronts:
Explain the economic benefits of vaping to your company: vaping in your van whilst driving increases your productivity by requiring you to take less breaks. Explain the economic drawbacks of requiring vapers to be with smokers: Vaping is not smoking, and they are opening themselves up to litigation by exposing non-smokers to passive smoke.
This would be best addressed through a union I would think.
Money, always money - you've got to get across why vaping is good for their bottom line. Nothing else matters to them.

Just a quick update for those waiting - I ordered on 21 November and my tracking now says arrived in the uk. It should arrive in the next couple of days, so there's hope for most people waiting for fasttech vapemail before Xmas.

If you can coil a protank, you can coil most things - especially single coil tanks, but the principle is the same with multiple coils. You don't have to stick to clearomisers, maybe it's time to have a look at rebuildables.
Why not post some pics of what you like the look of, and we can direct you from there?
