I think I'm understanding this correctly - for the magnets to perform like the spring they need to be the right strength and it would appear that this is a minimum of N42, but probably N45. Some of the cheaper versions are N35 and these might require using three magnets. I don't know why the subject of conductivity was introduced - this doesn't seem relevant.

A magnet is a magnet. I don't quite subscribe to the theory that the original magnets will perform better. I guess it depends what strength the magnets are. I can only assume that Atmomixani supply magnets fit for purpose and that they will replicate the dynamics of the spring, so you could stand the Nemesis up with an Atty on top without firing. But as you say, simply fit an extra magnet if required.

I bought the magnet upgrade from Vapist, not sure if they are the same as the ones you got from ebay, but they are a good upgrade, much smoother button throw and no firing when stood upright, even in 18650 mode with a Kayfun 3.1. I guess the magnets in your link Fockskey will be original Atmomixani parts so will perform better, so you get what you pay for.

I must admit oldleatherlungs, I only use my Nemesis's in 18350 mode & they're fine......I'll try with a 18650 & see It's a tad wobbly in 18650 mode oldleatherlungs........doesn't fire, but it's close......just tighten the locking ring when you stand it up & it'll be fine Thanks for that chrisjw . I guess the key benefit of the magnets is the improvement in the switch operation.

I might get a couple of these. chrisjw Are just 2 of the magnets strong enough to prevent firing when you stand the Nemesis up with an atty on top ?

OK. I decided to treat myself to a Nemesis clone and it arrived the other day. I've also fitted a Kick2, and a Kayfun 3.1 has also arrived (gawd help my credit card) With the Kick fitted should I worry about battery types - I'm using Efest IMR at the moment because that's all I have but I wondered whether I should consider protected batteries as a second line of defence. What are the risks of the Kick going kaput and does it fail safe ? Can I get more life (MaH) out of some protected batteries ? Would protected batteries fit my mod ? I need to mention that I will not be sub-ohming, 1.5ohm would be my minimum resistance.

Grizwald says I personally have always bought my VG from Tesco, Dr Oetker Glycerine 38ml for 65p. I know you can buy 200ml at Boots for £1.45 and will probably get round to trying it myself once my own runs out. But a word of caution when buying VG, or Glycerine as its more commonly called in shops, it really does make a difference where you buy it from. I remember getting an Asda brand once, and ended up adding 50% Vodka to get it to the same consistency as my PG. Far too much alcohol, and not good for your atty.See reply #1 in this thread Grizwald

Or, mix the 18mg with some 6mg in equal quantities to retain the flavour.

And thanks for the fast despatch of my Kick2 Jason. Now all I need is a Nemesis to try it in - I wonder what's in that little box under the Christmas tree
