I'm a massive believer in garlic and chilli. In fact tonight's plat du jour is spaghetti with heaps of both to blitz the bug from the inside. Good thing there is no-one to kiss at the moment...!! And I do think that honey and lemon in hot water is better than anything you can buy in a pharmacy.

Poor you, sounds like you might have picked up your daughters bug. You can get similar symptoms after stopping the cigs, not sure if they're as intense as yours sound though. I've been lucky enough not to have had a cold (or bird flu  ) since I started vaping full time. Although I had a few days when I had a really sore throat and thought I was going to succumb. Vaping was really rough on my throat from both the nicotine and flavouring, felt as though I was inhaling razorblades! I found that watering my usual juice down in my tank with a plain, no nic 50/50 PG/VG mix helped a lot. Hubby is just getting over a cold (only had it for a week this time!) and I diluted his too, he found it helped. I doubt you've got any supplies so I'd be more than happy to send you some if you'd like to give it a try? Just PM me  Aww bless you - what a sweet thought. Actually my supplies are a bottle of menthol at 6mg nicotine (70/30 PG/VG) which is ok and not too harsh on the old throat. I'm not really using the kit though. Mostly too busy with RIDICULOUSLY loud sneezes (poor cat runs a mile), boxes of tissues and general moaning how ill I feel. My daughter has already said that she got through it without so much as a whimper, and she was the lead in her school play this week, so could I please 'grow up and get on with it'. I like the idea of self medicating with whisky but that might have to wait until after work ;-)
And yes thanks for idea of menthol - I've got some that arrived this week so might give it a go. Got to be more fun than chewing Airwaves gum!

Thanks to the wonderful folk on here, the support, the information and the advice, today is day seven with no stinkies and I'd love to say that I'm on Cloud 9 but the truth is, I'm really ill. Yesterday I came down with an extremely heavy cold, sinus issues, hacking cough, body aches, tight chest and generally everything associated with respiratory infection. I did some research and found there is such a thing as 'quitters' flu' but also my daughter and her school friends all have horrendous colds so I suppose it could be either. Any thoughts on how long this might last and how I can feel better? I was so bouncy and happy at the beginning of last week and now I just want to curl up in a small ball and not face the world. In terms of vaping, it's wonderful to know that my machine is by my side but I'm not using it much at all. I think I'm still on my first 1.6ml of e-liquid that I started with. Thanks in advance for help and advice (and your experiences). |

Awwwwww! My daughter (9) and I both squealed out loud! We have a kitten who we think was sired by a bengal as she loves water, is extremely vocal and hunts voraciously. More photos please :-)

60 hours stinky-free. I know it's not much in the grand scheme of things but it's more than I've ever been able to achieve before! And I don't really seem to be vaping very much at all. When the urge strikes to 'step outside' I take one or two puffs. I haven't gone through much more than 1ml of e-liquid yet. I can't wait for my new tastes to arrive though - that's when it should get fun! Congrats to all - whether that's one day or one year |

Thanks all for your continued help and thoughts. I've spent much of today reading the forums, watching videos and practicing vaping. It's not as easy to master the inhalation as I thought it would be and am still coughing a bit but am getting there! Have also decided that I don't want tobacco flavour (d'oh - only have six bottles of the stuff, five unopened - anyone fancy a swapsie?!!) so have ordered a menthol one and a couple of fruit ones from Joose Juice. Liked being able to buy samples to test out. Finally.....no analogues at all since 6pm last night when I booted my new best friend up and got vaping  |
