Unless my memory has really let me down, cornishbird is in the Penzance neck of the woods too. I'm sure we can sort something around there before too long! I believe you are right. welcome, spacey. (damn, another reason to feel homesick) No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted

Spotted this on Facebook whilst out earlier and saved it to my phone 'cause it seemed pertinent...

No problem with bees, which is odd because in my very long, naturally curly haired teenage years I acquired rather a lot in my hair whilst subduing a swarm. Don't mind wasps (my surname is Jasper) and ants fascinate me (amazing creatures). Centipedes terrify me.

Just curious, spikus. What do you use to carry the mods around? Wondering if you have a better solution that a couple of torch holsters.

bread of heaven in me drippa is not bad, in me protank 3 it is rank. why? i dont know. And I think you might just have nailed it there... Perhaps the true question is the formula between juice and device / set-up. Why Spotted Dick is better with cotton than silica and why Snake Oil is the reverse. Or, I hear, why tobacco's are better with steel mesh than silica whereas fruits can't abide steel mesh. Or why Vampire Vapes Cherry is better in an Aqua (cotton) or iClear30S than in a Kayfun (cotton) or Protank (roughly matching coil resistance) And how much external factors (what I had for supper, phase of moon, type of dream my of Labrador snoozing behind me is having, etc.) Way too many variables, I fear... And thus it's about whatever works in the moment.

@djs there's no shame in that, although I understand the frustration from times before and in all likelihood, times yo come. arron, I'm truly surprised by the lack of difference you find between the kfl and the mt3. I think, however, shinitus (not sure about the y) is all about hunting that grail of the prefect vape, and to be honest, I think that is all, unless the person is a collector, which for me is a little weird. Unfortunately, that hunt for the grail is inevitably fruitless. No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted

I moved pretty rapidly through the Shinyitus path - this is the last 8 months (excluding the first step) - Aborted VIP kit loaned (9 or 12 month gap)
- Riva 1100 + Carts (a couple of weeks)
- Riva 1100 + T3S (a couple of weeks, carts immediately abandoned)
- Riva 1100 + Protanks
- SVD (gift from UKV chap) and Protanks + Aga T2 (same gift as SVD) + mini Octopus + IGO W4
- SVD + KF3.1 (2nd hand from UKV) + Protanks
- SVD + KF3.1 + Expromizer
- VTR (very brief liason) + iClear 30S + Trident clone
- ChiYou clone + Taifun GT clone + KF3.1 + Expromizer + Aqua clone + Trident clone + mini Octopus + IGO W4 + KFL+ + iClear 30S
- ChiYou clone + Nemesis Copper Clone + Taifun GT clone + KF3.1 + Expromizer + Aqua clone + Trident clone + mini Octopus + IGO W4 + KFL+ + iClear 30S
- ChiYou clone + Nemesis Copper Clone + Taifun GT clone + KF3.1 + Expromizer + Aqua clone + Trident clone + mini Octopus + IGO W4 + KFL+ + iClear 30S + Squape Clone (bad base) + Micro D
- ChiYou clone + Nemesis Copper Clone + Stingray Brass + Taifun GT clone + KF3.1 + Expromizer + Aqua clone x2 + Trident clone + mini Octopus + IGO W4 + KFL+ + iClear 30S + Micro D + Squape Clone (bad base now brilliant with new base)
Everything that's dropped off the list has been given away to deserving causes. If I look at what I use regularly (i.e. coiled and loaded) it's the three mods (I have two at any one time on my belt) and the KF's, Expromizer and an Aqua, with tridents and IGO W4 on my desk I'm still trying to train the Taifun to be consistent and not to dump it's load every now and again... I shifted to mechs once I realised that the regulated mods all pulsed and didn't handle slight mis-matches with dual coils and I made the complete transition very quickly when I realised that a mech in 18650 mode was a little shorter than the SVD in 18350 mode and the batteries appeared to last longer (without dropping below either acceptable or safe voltage). The added bonus is that if I want to take a long slow flavoursome vape, then I don't have to count down to release / press so I can avoid a cut-out.... However, shinyitus is expensive (even if all of the above advanced stuff was clones it would be expensive). I've a couple more dippers on route and am so tempted to get another mod (I'm not all that enamoured with the Copper Nemesis now I've (I think) cross threaded the centre pin (it's really rather stiff) and I've not been able to solve the clicky switch, although magnets are nice). So... I've a couple more RDAs on their way from the lucky bag shop (Gaia and a Lotus clone) and that will be it until I see what the Orochi mod is like when FyneMods receives and is happy with it. Now dampyitus has started and soon, hopefully, I can redirect my vaping allowance to vape debit clearance...

Thanks steve. Reassurance was needed (especially add I just pulled back the order on my phone and realize that I'd halved quantities. Now to construct an order or two of concentrates and sweeteners and the like. No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted

So, on a high (hypermania) I bought half a litre of VG, same of PG, quarter of a litre of 72mg nic, more syringes and plastic bottles than you can shake a stick at and some second hand concentrates that are probably out of date. This was in November and the liquids have been sitting on the to shelf of a dark portion of my garage whilst I've been not so well or splurging on an orgy of coiling and experimentation with genuine and cloned atties and, of course, the realities of life intruded....
Now I feel ready to start (although uncertainties abound)... And I find myself wondering if my negligence with regards to storage means I should junk the base and diluents...
Thoughts?

Dripping... I'm a bit of a fan of dripping, I must say (else I wouldn't be typing).
The most obvious benefit is taste - I haven't found anything on par with a good dripper set up well. Some would say for making clouds as well but to be honest, I really don't care about that.
Next up is the ease of switching flavours (remove cotton, add cotton)
Yet the biggie for me... During the day I carry around with me a couple of Mechs in 18350 mode with a Kayfun and one of {Taifun GT, Aqua or Expromizer - these being the best RBA's I've come across / got). Now, as the night draws in (I don't vape in the house whilst my wife is up) I'm inclined to chain vape , which is nice but does tend to dehydrate me during the night... Dripping means I have to pause when I'm tired, like now... So, on my desk I have five RDA's (Trident clones, a micro D and an IGO-W4 + a neglected Octopus about to be sent to little brother, who has converted), each of which is coiled with either clean cotton or not (either way)...
Saying that, tonight, I've a good thing going with Spotted Dick in my Expromizer.

And this drug has been passed by the health people as 'safe to use'!!! Why in hell's name are e-cigs being sooooo crucified by the media, when a 'passed' smoking cessation drug like this is still being prescribed Chantix / Champix is one of those too good to be true things - it's clearly very good at what it purports to do but hell fire, if there's any latent or diagnosed mental health illness then it's one of those Roulette games showcased in The Deerhunter. This is what those wonderful people at NICE have to say about it publications.nice.org.uk/varenicline-for-smoking-cessation-ta123Read through it and see if you can spot any warnings or considerations relating to mental health, side effects and, oh, as in common knowledge, people being driven to suicide. Didn't spot anything? Nope - nor did I. What bugs me about it is that it's sometimes prescribed by GP's and Smoking Cessation Services without the above consideration (less so nowadays, after that 2011 articles).... Makes I sick...

I've ordered a kick from FT. Where can I get protected batteries from? Sorry for being thick but I only have 18650s at the moment and I have no idea if they're protected or not. Sent from my Nexus 7 using proboards If you use a kick collie2011, you don't need protected batteries as the kick provides the protection. Some IMRs from Torchy will be good I think that a Kick provides limited protection (thermal, from memory, but speaking to Keith of C9V he reckoned that one shouldn't bank on protection from a short in the same way you would with a fuse... and even then nowt beats care and attention... Saying that, I try and always use a fuse. The advantage of an IMR battery is that when things do go wrong, the chemical structure of the battery has greater stability than a protected battery, so if things do go wrong in a way that the protection doesn't handle then you've a little more time to recover things (especially the dreadful `put battery in the wrong way up and feel it get super hot in your hand` error, says he who has done that twice and has blown two fuses due to slackness when re-wicking). The advantage of a protected battery over a fuse is a couple of mm (i.e. a shorter throw on the switch and/or less or know gap between tubes (I think)). The advantage of a protected battery is more amp hours. Oh - a kick is great when you quickly make a poor silica coil of two high a voltage and don't have time to rebuild so you can force it to be okayish with a kick). I'm noticing more and more mechanical mod vendors recommending IMR batteries (I only use IMR: Torchy's, Efest and I'm-certain-they-are-genuine AW's )

In my hand right now I have a Stingray clone in 18350 mode (thanks FyneMods) with a real 3.1 containing the dregs of some Snake Oil (you can spot the bottle, I think) and some burnt cotton (which I will shortly be removing, yuk, pity poor Tom). In the background you see a little of my somewhat chaotic desk...Oh - the little dripper stands arrived from the lucky bag shop yesterday - I rather like them.
