I like that word - Relative.
At the side of Kanthal or Nichrome, Ni200 has a relatively low resistance. It's my belief the term 'NR-R-NR' was used purely because it was easier to understand than 'LR-HR-LR' (low-high-low).

Someone said 'slap some fancy words on it and it'll sell'. Varying the frequency? A coil will behave as an inductor, the resistance will rise with the frequency. Or are they just trying to reinvent PWM?? The Chinese struggle with the english language. Now they're trying to add science and engineering into the language mix.  |

I thought these were 20a continuous Ripshod @jc72 The 35Amp 2500mAh efests still are 20Amp. These new 35Amp 2800mAh are definitely something bad. If you was to google '35Amp 2800 18650' the only results that even hint at being useful are efest. My advice? Avoid the 2800s, stick with the 2500s - for now. (sorry gm111, you missed my edit) |

Are we really to believe efest are now a battery manufacturer? Could this be an example of their QC?
Until it's confirmed I'd like to believe the cell that vented was one of the 'fakes'.
But I am looking into this.
Bear in mind that efest don't test the cells they rewrap, they just trust that they are what it says on the box.
ETA: The vid maker's big mistake was doing the Amps calculation on the output of a regulated device. The output current is completely different from the current actually drawn from the cell. With the settings he used he was drawing 24 Amps.
Hasn't this vid maker made quite a few vids slating stuff he knows nothing about?? I'm not gonna go through his vids as I'm on mobile BB but his face and accent are very familiar.

Don't think it's chrome, don't have the issue here.
I do have anomolies when I'm in the 'preview' mode, but I do most of my writing/editing in bbcode mode.

The 40Amp are over specced Bob. The 35Amp 2500mAh outperformed them in every way. Even Norbert wasn't impressed. So I dropped them, as has at least one vendor. |

Absolutely but there will be those who twist it as a bad thing. Very true unfortunately. The good news is spreading and is being accepted a lot more though. The typical pub conversation starter has gone from 'those things will kill you' to 'WOW, what batteries does that take? Makes mine look tiny!!'. |
