Once the flooding starts and you shut off the juice control to stem the flow you'll find that juice will still enter the ceramic via the locking ring that doesn't 100% tighten due to that wire that's trapped. The only way to stop it then is to turn it upside down and blow through the 510 and keep it upside for a bit till the internal pressure subsides. Of course, the initial flooding is user error. Either the juice control is open too far or the draw is set too tight creating too much of an internal vacuum. I see what your saying. It has been one of the trickier atty's to get used to, but now ive had it for a few weeks I think im starting to work out its quirks. What you say about the internal pressure and vacuum is the trickiest bit about it. Refilling it and just unscrewing the juice control leads to flooding as there is no vacuum built up to stop it flooding, so a couple of draws and half a turn then another couple and half a turn. After about 10 vapes you can open it up more without it flooding. Now im getting used to it I really like it. The first week I had it I hated it, it was either shorting out or flooding, now its pretty trouble free.

Also the 2 reviews I looked at when they installed the coil they just left the leg that was not shielded to just sit loose in the wick channel. When I did this my resistance readings were all over the place and if I touched the coil they would jump up to something silly like 4 Ohm. This was because proper contact wasn't being made. When you screw the 'head' into the base, if you bend the wire so it sticks out, when you screw the little ring down it traps that wire between the base and the ring and gives you a proper contact and stop any erratic readings. just trim when its all tightened up. If you fold that wire into a Z you effectively make a spring that forces a good connection against the base, I never trap wires on the mk1 penelope, that's the pathway to gurgling That's a good tip that I hadn't thought of, but when it comes to gurgling, the only way you will get that is if the juice flows into the ceramic cup and down the airhole. If juice leaks into the base section, which is possible if you trap the wire then there is a rubber washer there that stops it flowing out through the bottom of the 510.

I got a Ephoria recently which is a Penelope clone and had a few issues which are sorted now but some were the same as Grandad I watched the review by todd and he said his came with a rubber washer inside the ceramic and that he had to take this washer out to stop it shorting out. When I did this I had the same problem as Grandad and the nut would easily unscrew itself which caused problems of its own. I tried to screw it down tight but thought I was going to crack this so I put this rubber washer back inside the ceramic and was able to tighten it down without cracking the ceramic and after it was tight the metal pin was clear of the coil enough so it wouldn't short out. it hasn't come loose since. When you screw the 'head' into the base, if you bend the wire so it sticks out, when you screw the little ring down it traps that wire between the base and the ring and gives you a proper contact and stops any erratic readings from the wire moving. just trim when its all tightened up.

I saw bunch of these on FT link and thought was it worth having. I suppose for adding airflow without added vapour it has a use.

Hi jmw2309 You have got yourself a decent set-up there. I think I lasted 4 weeks before getting a vtr so your not alone in jumping from one thing to the next. That should keep you happy for a few weeks at least.

Hi mowjo . You seem to have got off to a positive start there, good to hear that you getting on well with it. Mixing flavours is ok to do, its tail and error till you get something you like. I always have menthol, aniseed and vanilla handy for adding to other flavours.

Sorry, last question, the adaptor thingy, is that so you leave the adaptor on the VTR and keep disconnectiing the tank from the adaptor instead disconnecting it from the device so doesn't wear the device thread? .... if that makes sense lol Yes that's spot on, if you use the cuts in the top to tighten it down it wont unscrew when you take your tanks off and will prevent the VTR threads from wearing out.

I use my kayfun on my svd with a 0.9-1 Ohm coil. I use thicker wire .4mm(26awg) on a 2.4mm former 7 wraps for .9 and 8 for 1.0. Actually each wrap on that setup gives an extra .1 Ohm. Ive not tried twisted wire myself but the thinner wire you have is .2mm so im guessing twisting that would give similar results to having .4mm wire (give or take)
Try using this guys method for doing your wick.
It works really well, can use on a mech which means its at 20w and no problem

Hi bobmcdee There is not a lot that can go wrong on a clearo, that would cause it to not work. As long as the threads make a contact and centre pin make a contact the coil should heat up, as the whole metal base conducts the current. Even damaged threads would be hard pressed to stop it working. Try pulling out the centre pin on the atty a little bit (like in the pic below) dont pull it to hard as you don't want the pin to come all the way out.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I finished the last of my tobacco yesterday, I've been awake for 6 hours and still haven't felt the need to go out and get some more so I'm rather happy the results. I'm still getting used to smoking it but the transition seems to be nice and easy for me (so far). To start with I've put RY4 in one of them and menthol in the other but I did pop a bit of menthol in with the RY4 just as a bit of an experiment At the moment I'm looking into the whole recoil/rewick thing (are either of those the right word?), but I'm not going to rush into anything just yet. I do have a quick question though, I have a metal allergy so the mouthpieces that come with them aren't too great for me, does anyone know of anywhere that I can get new ones that are a different material, what materials would be best and do any them affect the taste? Once you have an empty bottle or two you can mix up some flavours in them so you have 10ml or 30ml to use. I do this with my tobacco flavour(Virginia), I just add 30% custard, 15% fruit and a little bit of aniseed to it.
If you've read shinys guide then that's what most do after a while.
I don't like chrome drip tips, its like I can taste the chrome a bit, but its not an allergy for me. Take up the offer from @johanino for a couple of the plastic ones. Fastech do some pretty nice tips for about a third of the price of UK vendors. You can get some PMMA/POM or Teflon tipped ones. I have a couple of these I use a lot. FT SS+PMMA But there are so many of different colours ect. Some of the glass ones look nice. Just check the measurements before buying or you may end up with
That's a 22mm atty its on
