Hope this saves you from a potential disaster.. That makes sense, but never occurred to me... thanks charon... another item to add to the shopping list!!!! Q.... tried to order one of them stainless ones (worth a punt at the price)... but have to order $25 of other stuff first!!!

Also, I read your first post as you were getting 1.3 to 4.0 ohms, which is a big difference, which is what made me wonder. If I read it wrong and you meant 1.3 to 1.4 ohms, then I'd say you were already getting good consistency, and if you enjoy vaping 'em, carry on doing what you're doing! Cheers

I'd say there was something wrong if 6 wraps gives you a range of 1.3 - 4.0 ohms. I use 0.2 kanthal, 10 wraps on a 1.5mm drill bit gives me around 2 ohms consistently. There are some good guides on here, and a ton of vids on youtube... my suggestion is to watch a few vids, get a few different gauges of Kanthal, and practice, practice, practice... it takes a while to get consistent with your coils. But the effort is worth it. Good luck. when i wrap them i dont do micro coil i just do normal wraps - is this wrong ? You don't have to micro coil. Personally I have found them a better vape. But it's all down to personal preference, and finding what works for you. If your coils are separate, keep them evenly spaced, evenly sized, and make sure none are touching. Just keep at it. You'll find your sweet spot soon enough. Cheers

leo on Focalecig you have the choice of a copper one on group buy for £9.34, or a stainless one on promotion for £7.58 I've got the stainless one on order already but for that price its almost worth having both Sounds good. Thanks Q, will have a look at those after work. Cheers

oh and youll end up useing 18650 batts at some point and not mind the extra size because of how much longer they last I have an 18650, but my pv lives in my tool belt at work, and it's the weight as much as the size that I'm trying to keep down. My vamo in 18650 is a hefty beast!!! LOL

i would personally go for the hagar one www.vapegeek.co.uk/Hcigar-Nemesis-556.htmim fairly new to vapeing but use a mech mod and you really can tell when the vape drops off if your not going to be running sub ohm a kick is a handy thing to have as it stops you running your batt to empty and it lets you set the power just so you know dont run sub ohm(under 1 ohm ) on 18350,s you will kill the batt i have the 69 clone from fast tech and im impressed with the build quality for such a cheap mod i got a cheap nemmi clone and it was not fun to get it working well or well finished hence the recommendation for the hagar above might be twice as much as the ones your looking at but worth it oh and youll end up useing 18650 batts at some point and not mind the extra size because of how much longer they last Thanks decoy, I like to vape between 9.5-11w, so won't be sub-ohming as I'm not looking for mega power. I think the DC signal must give a better vape, which is why I was planning to avoid the kick. But they're cheap enough, so maybe I'll get one to play with. Have heard good things about the hcigar... thanks for the link... will have a look at the 69 clone also. Cheers, Leo.

Quick question for the mech owners.. (sorry if this has been asked 1001 times before) I'm looking to get my first mech (planning to run in 18350 mode to keep it as small as possible), and would be very grateful for a bit of advice. Have seen this (£15): www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10005773/1448300-nemesis-style-mechanical-modAnd this (£11): www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10005773/1604509over on ft, they look identical to me... does anyone have any idea what the difference is? Or any other advice re a good first mech? Obviously these are pretty cheap, so as a first step into the world of mechs - not too scary. In general I prefer to buy from a UK vendor, for speed of delivery and backup, but it's hard to argue with FT prices. Also, to kick, or not to kick? I'm pretty much decided I wouldn't bother with a kick, but in that case is there any way to keep an eye on your battery (any kind of portable tester?)... I don't want to lug my Vamo around just to pop the battery in to check the voltage. I know people say you can tell when the battery is going, but as a mech noob, I'm worried that I will trash my batteries. (my batts are 18350 efest imr 800mah, non-protected) Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer. Cheers, Leo

It was the threads on the 510 connector leo. I was a clueless noobie who was continuously screwing on and off different clearos and atties. Just be careful not to cross-thread and you should be fine mate. Thanks for the tip. I'm changing tanks a couple of times a day, but so far the threads on the 510 feel good. Got a Sigelei Zmax Mini coming from FT, which I will mostly use at work, but at least then I'll have a backup! Cheers

A very respectable set-up leo and a nice pic. The vamo was my first big boy mod and I got a good year out of it before the threads stripped. I still miss it. Ooooh..... s.h.i.n.y Which threads did you have trouble with? Maybe something I should take care with. Cheers

Does anyone else keep their juice in the fridge? Or is that just me.... ??? Some flavourings I do and Nic base in the freezer . . . other than that everything is in a cupboard, away from any heat/direct light source. Too much warmth will degrade nicotine/flavour over time, the same as cold temperatures will inhibit infusing/steeping. Some of the nicest eliquids I use are 6+ months old, where the flavours have been given plenty of time to blend, all just kept in a cupboard. Thanks for the info... I was sure I read somewhere that a cool place is best, and as my flat gets sun all day in summer, and everyone in the building has their heating on in the winter, the only cool place in the flat is the fridge. Didn't know that could slow the steeping process though... will leave it out of the fridge for a couple of weeks from now on!!
