I suspect the authenticity of the e-cig was not the main reason for using that photo.

Mechanicals are in the Apocalypse Box - Mako Maksi, GGTS, Shockwave, GGTB, along with The Kicks - loved them all at the time. But now it's VV/VW for me. Just quickly hopping off topic, While I have an emergency legislation stash, I did notice someone quoted an apocalypse date - 2016. Is this in reference to something - Ive missed something haven't I? 20th May 2016 is the first compliance date for the EU Tobacco directive. There is a second one a year later. i.e. by that date governments are supposed to have done something to implement its 'requirements'. www.clivebates.com/?p=1747

hmm, suppose I prefer an electronic device given an option? I love vaping via vv and/or vw (my provari mini only has vv as its a 2.5) but I also use mech mods as my squonker is a mech, as are my 14500 mods.... I feel I need to understand mech mods, though I am lazy and prefer vv/vw for 'ease of use' at the end of the day there's no point me buying electronic devices with built in batteries if UK law limits my vaping and outlaws my gear that only has a certain lifespan, so I have both, for safeties sake. Same plan with rebuildable atomisers - shop bought is fine but I prefer to have gear I can easily rebuild also. I cant really settle on one specific type/mod. I get irritated and dissatisfied with vape quality and swap and change like the wind to suit my mood and my juice! So yeah, I do use all my gear, in a rotation. And yes I do NEED 8 mods Yep I have stocked up on mechs against the dreaded day. Anything with a circuit board will fail one day. NB Mind the Provari I bought years ago shows no signs of decrepitude but i mainly use it to test my dripper buiilds before they go on a mech. Edit of course you need 8 mods; who doesn't?

My guess is that a combination of regulation and taxation will limit the extent to which vaping will continue to replace smoking.
The only totally ‘legal’ devices will be based on sealed nicotine controlled cartridges which are as ‘we’ know fairly useless. They will be produced by the big tobacco companies and increasingly taxed above 20% on the basis of false health claims.
More than 80% of the population don’t smoke (or vape) already they all benefit from the current levels of taxation on smoking. They will not be all that concerned if vaping takes over from smoking as a revenue cow. Indeed most will happily support punitive taxation I suspect. On the bright side I doubt this will have much affect on those of us who can already make a coil and mix some juice although we will have to import more of our kit and consumables. Our home grown retailers will be big losers I fear.
Just my guesses; I hope for better things but as always with these things follow the money.

Yeah it,s still there and still has some great cider and a couple of loopy brews! I live literally next door to the union in East street and have in the past worked at the locomotive, the Jolly abbot and was the licencee at strikers twice which you might have known as the Devon Arms! Small world isn't it! I know most of them but the Locomotive particularly.

Richard46 that I'm afraid was my clumsy attempt at humour! OOPs sorry; I did wonder. I have just noticed you are from Newton Abbot which I know so very well. Now if what they sell in the Cider Bar remains legal anything should be.

spacey, nic doesn't freeze, just thickens and goes gloopy so I reckon if you had to transport it for a few hours a cool bag will probably do. I have built an apocalypse box which at present contains about 7 mech mods, a vamo v5, a vtr, 6 various protanks with about 50 heads (I can recoil) similar amount of evods, 2 udi agi's, 2 smok aro's. In daily use are 2 vtr's with aerotanks on them and a kato with an aerotank mega on it. Reckon I" pretty much sorted should the worst happen, just going to be stocking up on nic now and perhaps another kato. Main thing is to find a good place to hide the box from the vaping gestapo. This afternoon just bought 10 glass tanks that fit the protank and aerotank for just over a fiver Sad git or what!!! Reckon kanthal, cotton wool pg and vg, and flavourings will always be available. You really don't need to worry about that; legislation that allowed the seizure of existing devices would never be contemplated if only because it could never be enforced. It will be near impossible to curb the import of new kit no one will have the time to get search warrants to hunt out our Evods and Katos and Kayfuns.

*At my age; nearly seventy; that is a realistic proposition. For someone younger obviously not. I have taifuns not kayfuns and find the flavour a lot better than the aerotanks, although I have a shedload of them too. I can recoil a taifun but never tried the mega I am thinking more along the lines of "what if we cannot get tanks bigger than 2ml or we can only buy filled cartridges" rather than which is better for flavour. I have shied away from rebuildables due to my limited experience and expertise but I am concerned about future availability due to changes in legislation I share your anxiety. My solution so far is to have a couple of simple bomb proof drippers and mech mods (all 18500) that will probably outlast me and accumulating Nic concentrate in the bottom of the freezer. If I thought it would last indefinitely I would buy enough to see me out*. Obviously things like Kanthal; batteries; wicking material and flavour concentrates will continue to be available as they all have purposes other than vaping. *At my age; nearly seventy; that is a realistic proposition. For someone younger obviously not.

Something to keep in mind - although purchasing outside the EU would be prohibited, people find ways round this for other products to supply a black market. In this case though, as similar restraints are on the cards throughout Europe AND North America, with the rest of the world likely to fall into line with those views - Chinese factories will see the market disappear before their eyes - they will switch to making other products. There is no incentive for them once the market recedes. Getting hold of nic base, even on a black market, will be almost as difficult as it is hazardous. As its now banned in most countries as a pesticide, I cant think of another commercial use other than NRT. Anyone producing in industrial volumes will be looking for a way out of that business at the moment. The combination of sky high prices and unknown quality makes me doubt this business model. Personal stockpiles and rebuildables are just delaying the fateful day for those with the resources to prepare. There is only one sensible option, don't let the buggers get away with it, fight them on every front. They are beginning to get the message, we have already won great victories and been rewarded with more time. Time is our greatest asset in this battle, each day more smokers join our ranks. Each day more real evidence supports our cause. I reckon we should set up the aaec political party Chrissie for pm ronaldo as head of custard affairs, chykensa as head of education, I'll be head of food n drink . Well renationalise the post office n put brend in charge. Who else fancies a job Sorry I've been up all night with little one ( I need sleep ) There is a vaping political party already registered. vapersinpower.co.uk/
