but the phrase "being a shower of shifty bastards" might not be the best header. Really? What would you call reneging on a promise, then? Giving with one hand and taking back with the other is the mark of a shifty bastard, no matter who or where. They were ok until that little episode. My latest message to them asked simply, "Why are you trying to cheat me?". No answer to that one, I notice. Haven't got back to them but that's the end of me buying cheap chinese pants Sometimes, you just need a leg up, but everybody needs a crotch of some sort.

Probably mostly bollocks, but hey, it sells papers. Otoh, if you happen to have a sensitivity to a particular insect bite, you can be in real trouble, and that's likely what happened to the bloke in the article. A friend of mine is in serious danger of death if she gets stung by one more bee or wasp and makes sure anyone she's with knows how to stab her with her epi pen. Rough stuff.

The latest (as of a few days ago) is yet another one who insists that because the refunded postage and the refunded single lamp total nearly the amount I would be owed then I should be happy with that. Well, so much for being refunded my postage then; thanks for that, you shower of cheats.
Fasttech are totally blown out with me from now on - unless one of them gets in touch and comes good on what they promised in the first place. You can tell how good a company is by how they handle things when they go wrong and initially FT seemed fine that way. Now, I'm definitely of a very different opinion.

Bought 3 LED bulbs, two died, FT offered to repay return postage on the dead pair, all fine.
Credit for postage is on my account, fine.
Now they say that I only returned two bulbs - <fickme> of course I only returned two bulbs, you shower of ...
Anyway, what they're saying is since I got the mail refund and the refund for one bulb, I should be happy and to go frik myself, basically.
This has been going on for weeks, and it seems each person who deals with it is thicker than the last. It's not a simple misunderstanding nor a command of English, at the root of it - it's sheer bloody mindedness and I'm now seriously considering whether I will ever deal with them again. I reckon I'll take what's in my account and cash it in for goods and never go back to them, if this is how they deal with screwups of their own making.

Either deliberately shifty or having problems with their cashflow. Not good, either way.

There are some real asshole attitudes around, still. I really wonder if all that progress we made in the 60s and 70s was all for nothing, given that the moronic mouth-breathers appear to be in the ascendancy once more. Perhaps they never really were on the decrease and it was just an illusion, but I like to think more enlightened attitudes and behaviour did have a knock-on effect. For what it's worth, here's my take on it - breast is best, ok? Tastes fckin amazing, too.

I was starting to get a bit of taste overload, and getting very sensitive to PG content, such that the lining of my mouth felt like old carpet and I really couldn't taste much. For a few days I just vaped plain VG 15mg nic juice, no flavourings at all, save what was in the bottom of the Vivi Novas and yesterday experimented with adding small amounts of flavoured ready-made ejuices. What a difference it has made - adding just four or five drops of Dekang cinnamon-flavoured 24mg mix to a 2.5ml quantity of plain juice in the VN exploded with taste, and the same went for butterscotch in the other. I've just put five drops of ready-made Cherry Pie into a VN and the same goes again - Delicious.

They were quite quick to refund me the postage for the return package, but now they're quibbling about a 'discount' they say I had on the items. I can't seem to get through to them that the discount was small and of the three items I paid $20 for, two of them are dead and I'm owed $14. For some strange reason their systems seems to have listed one of the items as having been heavily discounted when I bought it - apparently only costing me pennies, which is a load of nonsense.

Ebay is rife with dirty tricks from competitors reporting listings. Their own listings escape attention, especially if they're a Power Seller. Funny, that.

I'm going to watch the new series of Downton Abbey tonight. Never bothered with the previous series until I watched it on ITV3 recently, and got hooked. I am so, so ashamed.... but sod it, who cares. I'm a fan, of sorts. Have been since series one. I'm a sucker for all sorts of costume drama, largely out of historical interest - I watch these things with a highly critical eye, seeing what liberties have been taken with the times or technology and pouncing gleefully on trivial mistakes that I can parade in front of other sad geeks enthusiastic viewers.

Well, my experience with them has been ok to middling, so far. The only bits that let me down were LED mains bulbs - two out of three failed (the third one is still going strong) and I returned them. On production of a mailing ticket, I immediately got the postage cost refunded, and elected to keep that in my FT account, but as for the items reaching them yet, there's no sign of them, so I haven't actually had the refund for those. I will get it eventually, I've no doubt.

They're using a standard bait and switch tactic - obfuscating the issue, admitting then denying, offering something then saying something else. I wonder how tight things are at Wimpey Construction if they're dancing around like this over some soundproofing that they should have done right in the first place. I think it's utterly disingenuous of them to make it seem like they're doing you a favour by sorting out their crappy workmanship. Bastards, just bastards. Don't let them screw you - get help and screw them back as much as reasonably possible.

I just use a head-torch, really convenient for all sorts of other tasks, too. www.fasttech.com/category/1602/headlampsI got a couple of these, without chargers, for a fair bit cheaper. www.fasttech.com/products/1602/10002109/1153402-y-1013a-cree-xr-e-q5-240lm-3-mode-white-light-zoomI like these ones because the weight distribution is right - light at the front, battery at the rear, and it just feels comfortable enough to wear all day. Also, the FT headlamps don't claim stupid output power - I can have this one on for ages and it doesn't overheat, compared to an almost identical ebay one that claims twice the lumens, and is brighter, admittedly, but soon wrecked itself overheating. ps, if using one of these, get protected cells - you don't want a dodgy cell on your head Or go for the AAA option. pps, oops, just reading further on, I see you don't want head attachments.
