my Evic Mini turned up today and first impressions are......good. The 3 click menu entry is more confusing than anything else because my other mods are 5 click, the menu is ok although not being able to adjust the wattage in TC mode up and down without doing a full cycle is a pain. I haven't been asked if its a new coil because I unlocked the resistance before fitting different attys and TC is working nicely with Ni200 although I reckon its possibly cutting in faster than my Sigelei and D2. The update was painless, didn't realise it was going to be so quick and updated twice So....help....how do you change the display from Fahrenheit to Celcius?

I wasn't impressed with custard e-juices when I started vaping but I got the taste for VC so I registered on Grants ready to order and see what its supposedly all about. I might be able to appreciate that GVC is very good but I'm not going to lower myself to a first come first serve Black Friday scramble.
I've made 500ml of Kreeds along with a few bottles of fruit variations, I reckon my DIY 30 quids worth will last well beyond my hankering to buy a 'premium' vanilla custard vape. I'm only on the second 30ml and pretty sure my farts are scented with Vanilla and New York Cheesecake already.

I went for the Stumpy instead of the Petri clone basicly because there appeared to be no AFC. And out of curiosity a Pi2 flatbed clone, as if things aren't messy enough!

Cheers guys, I'll probably add one to the collection, was thinking of a single coil centre build, the posts on the velocity are too high. Not too worried about wicking to be honest, just looking for an easy build dual post dripper.
I'll try to keep my finger off the 'add to basket button' for another week.

Evic VTC mini 50x pure nickle 0.05 ohm coils 0.5mm 50x pure nickle 0.06 ohm coils 0.4mm Black pom 510 tips x 10 Capella GB custard ingredients putting a lot of faith in the coil tolerances or your mods afaik 0.05ohm is the lowest any mainstream TC mod including the evic mini will read/register.. I may be calling it a bit close but they do have very useful 20mm legs. Evic? Just going to put a dripper on it, no messing around trying to fit long Ni200 coils in an rba.

My istick 40 has the same issues with reading a new coil rather infuriating and my D2 seems to run higher joules for the same settings. Looks like I've bought another pita budget vw/tc mod. Hopefully it actually steps down in power mode so that it doesn't end up going mech on me.

I've been looking at getting one of these, as per I don't have the cash for an original would anyone be able to recommend a decent copy?

My friend is all about low ohms and high watts. She runs most of her tanks at 50+ watts. my friend is the same, I won't even try to compete with her when she starts winding up the power. She was hitting dual coil RDA builds at up to 100w before she found temperature control, now she mostly uses a FreeMax Starre at 70-100w. She loves her clouds.

update; with much patience I managed to get a pair of 0.15 coils to read 0.073 , I got one vape and the mod flashed up 'low resistance' followed by 'short'. Damned Tobecco Mutation X4 has never been good with thin wires as the posts are over-drilled, the wire came off one post cut by the screw I assume the short followed soon after. I won't try it again in that atty and have reverted to a pair of Kanthal claptons. Full size Velocity clones are running nicely on single 4mm twisted Ni200 coils, plenty of vapour with reasonable flavour but they just seem muted until the last couple of draws before the wick starts to show signs of drying. I cracked open the second bottle of Kreeds Kustard ( its three weeks old!!!) and tried from 200c to 250c, best flavour is at 210, but in comparison to letting my trigger finger control the power on a pair of kanthal coils...passable. On the other hand 0.08 builds in the sub-tanks are rocking, just hit the button and vape pretty much worry free. Good job I bought some Samsung 30Qs last week.

no afaik Ohms law should apply so 2 x 0.2 ohm coils should give you 0.1 ohm resistance.. and with Ni200 open spaced coils are best as if they are touching like kanthal coils generally are they can conduct between the loops unlike kanthal and short out giving a much lower resistance.. i have the same coils myself recently arrived from FT.. and both are spaced.. (just been and checked ...) and will compress like a spring if squeezed.. tho the 0.15 ohm coils are tighter coiled there is still some space between the loops ? have you matched leg length when building dual coil heads? and have you ensured no legs have been pinched in two by 'sharp' post screws.. i have the same coils from FT www.fasttech.com/p/2330206 and www.fasttech.com/p/2330202Thanks for the replies. not the same ones phatfil, I had the $3.13/50 coil packs everything is visually the same on the set up, don't know what it is because I have fitted each coil, read it, then removed one and come up with 0.15 or 0.20 again...grr. I'll have another go tomorrow when my patience returns to normal levels.

I've started to play with temperature control and Ni200 coils, firstly I'm not making my own coils ( more later) I added some 0.15 ohm and 0.2 ohm (0.3mm x 3mm x 10 & 12 turn) coils to my last fast tech order. The basis on buying these higher res coils was essentially that I could reduce the number of coils if required to fit in a subtank rba and there would be enough resistance to make dual coil builds. No problems with the single coil, a 0.15ohm coil reads 0.13-0.15 no problem, the 0.2ohm coil reads spot on but for some reason when I make a dual build in a dripper they read 0.03-0.04 ohms. Is one of the joys of Ni200 or am I missing something? 2) touching or micro coils, for some reason the 0.2 coils are micro, unspaced, its not really an issue to open them up but most sources say spaced coils yet here and there the odd preson says that they don't find micro coils a problem... BTW I've just opened up a couple, twisted them in a drill and made a really nice 0.07 ohm coil for my velocity, if only the mod would read down to 0.03

Goblin mini, have one on my P3 right now. Turns it from being a top heavy lump to being quite nicely balanced.
I'm considering some shorter batteries to make the most of it.
