SteveF The triple coil is way better than the quad coil, the flavour on the triple is by far the best stock coil i've ever used. the quad coil is really just a parallel coil stack on top of another parallel while the triple is 3 separate coils in 3 separate chambers. It's a much denser wetter vape with the triple coil. It's the first of these clearo with a rebuildable option where i've thought the stock head was distinctly better than the RBA option, the single coil RBA anyway, the dual coil one is a lot better. Thanks for the advice, denser and wetter, looks like I'll have to mix another 60ml before i get into those. I'm quite happy with the rba at the moment and will probably give the triple a go when I get round to changing out again. I've ordered a dual coil rba so I may not even tempt myself with the triple coils anyway. May well have 3 packs of quads for sale when it turns up.

Another thing to look out for.....the coil seal on the rba comes off very easily, this is the third time a seal has made its own way off. I rewicked after singing the cotton earlier and after priming left the tank for a while. I filled the tank, looked down to pick up the juice bottle lid and this was on the floor. Plus side. The top filler seal didn't leak whilst I was refitting the rba.

The whole unit is bigger but this is the business end, feeding these will be the biggest problem. TFV4 RBA v Subtank RBA and Quad coil V OCC

I've had one for just over a week now, seems like a fairly short time to make any defining conclusions but here I go. Its huge, sitting on top of my Sigelei 150 makes the combo a real lump to consider carrying about, it put it in my back pocket whist pottering around the shed earlier and I had to tighten my belt up a notch I've had one leak so far, the chimney to coil thread is short as is the coil to base thread 2>2.5 turns. I must nipped the narrow coil seal and whilst settling it back in undone it half a turn because after two pulls it gurgled and emptied out of the base. Grrrr The quad coil is massively airy, I can't get any sensation of pull through it, drainpipe comes to mind. I've taken it up to 120w without my lungs collapsing from the heat although the tank does get warm/hot. I changed over to a normal 510 drip tip, the wide vented tip didn't really help matters. Setting the mod at 80-100w appears to be about right. I tanked my way through 20ml of juice and had to think about what was going wrong because although the clouds were massive there just didn't seem to be any density to them. Simply I'd say that the quad coils are not for me and I bought 3 packs I haven't tried the triple coil, only having one and not being totally taken with the quads its still in the box. I bought it primarily for the RBA....I'm a subtank user so its like heaven to have a large base to build on. Even so the screw heads and the wire holes in the deck are tiny, the thick twist I use in the subtank rba was too thick to fit in or under. I went for a basic 0.75ohm coil made from 0.5mm kanthal...4mm i/d, it fits with room to spare so why not? I should have taken a picture when I wicked it, Scottish roll, teased it out into a huge dandelion kreed and cut it to shape when wet with just the bottom tips of the fluff in the juice wells. It took well over a ml to stick down and once in the tank and filled up I tentatively waited for a leak...nah! I made 60 ml of 80/20 T-juice Minty the Toff with Bavarian Cream at the weekend and last night the flavour fell totally flat with the quad coil. Too hot, too airy bit of a fail tbh. So with today off work and time to kill I started at 40w which gave a stupidly cloudy vape that I've never had with the subtank, 50w gave an eat your heart out Mutation vapour, 60w ( Velocity redundant now), 70w still pulling like a goodun but not really any warmer than a pair of big coils in a dripper. At 80w I opened the drip tip up, just far too much air and the flavour went again I so backed down to 40w and closed the base up a little. I've just done half a tank in 10 good pulls, its a damn good job there was only 1mg nic otherwise I'd be feeling decidedly ill instead of still chewing mint toffee and cream. The rda is definitely the pick of the bunch so far, I'm not sure if I'm going to need to work out how to fit a more complicated coil and I haven't even considered Ni200 yet. Twin coil base.....ummm maybe I'll order a couple later:D

chykensa I'm going to watch this very closely as I am in the exact situation myself, I'm not one for keeping up with the Jones' but I do really need a bigger mod, my 30w istick is dying half way through the day at the moment which is getting annoying. I also have a uwell crown on order so would like to put it to good use once it turns up I like the look of the xcube but it is huge! Definitely not pocket friendly in my mind.... The search goes on I've also got an IPV D2 (another late night gearbest moment ), with ametal battery cover it actually feels more solid than the 4s. Much more daily user friendly than a dual 18650 mod and you can swap out the battery or charge in-situ. I took it to work today and wound up the smokers chuffing away at a mutation x clone with a pair of claptons at 50w. Todays breaks totalled around 2 hours plus using it on the drive with a tank. Had about 50% battery left before I screwed the RDA back on.

I had the choice of three dual 18650 mods in my local shop, Smok, Sigelei or IVP4s. I could have bought over the net but I really wanted to get a feel for one and believe me I nearly wore the paint off two of them before making my choice. The stainless finish of the Xcube really didn't do anything for me, neither did the grip firing bar. I was tempted by the bluetooth programming but aesthetically I couldn't live with the fingerprints. On initial specs I would have ordered the IPV4s blind on the net but in the hand it was different. The battery cover felt cheap, fragile and the whole thing felt tinny. Yes it had a lower Ni rating, yes it was upgradable to 160w and Ti compatable but....the issue with the warranty on the IPV3, the rapid release of the 4s with no upgrade didn't inspire confidence. I bought the Sigelei, a more hefty solid feel, tactile matt finish. That was it just the feel in the end, similar power, no Ti, no bluetooth, no USB upgradable firmwear. So far so good, I don't use it as an ADV I bought two pairs of batteries and have only recharged each pair twice. I fire up a couple of claptons at 80w in a velocity once or twice a week . I've started to use it with a TFV4 and quad heads....extra cloudy Sir? I've put juice in the tank more often than I've charged the 18650s. My only issues are that the lovely soft finish shows every smear of juice and as mentioned in reviews the channel that runs all the way around the edge is prone to catch any juice if you are messy with a dripper. In hindsight and now using Fastech and Gearbest, the Smok was very cheap last week down to c$55, the IVP4s is holding around $60. if I was buying today I'd go for the IPV4S. Paypal rates and UK express shipping... £41 or KOV if a UK source was prefered.

I've already drilled out the juice hole to 4mm, opening up the airflow seems like it could be my next step to making the V2 rba perform, found that the 'Scottish roll' makes a superb pancake type wick. There is a 4 turn 0.2 ohm kanthal twist ( 0.5mm, 0.30, 0.25, 0.20) in this ball of fluff

With my current device istick 30watts ( yeh yeh I know only 30watts), I either build a single 0.8 twisted macro coil or a 0.7ohm twisted micro coil . I find both very satisfying . to be honest my most satisfying sub-ohm build is from a derringer copy on a 20w mod, I use a 2.5mm i/d 28g 0.9 ohm coil at 12-15w. Taking cool flavour filled pulls from this makes squeezing claptons and twists into a bigger dripper seem like a lot of hard work. My ADV has been on a subtank rba, twisted kanthal ( 0.45, 0.30, 0.25, 0.20mm) 0.6 ohm at 22-25w, slow ramp up plenty of time for a cool hit and its so tough it can be rewicked over and over.

thanks fil, I've messaged isabel and will wait for a reply. The 'elusive' vertical OCC( not easily rebuildable)coil, wow! A collectors item I hope Tbh I've only ever used the factory coils that came with my mini tanks and then used the rba, something that I wont be able to do with the nano. Can't say that I was wholy impressed with the snap, crackle, pop, dry hits and burnt cotton of the 0.5/1.2/1.5 occ. And its not just me, I built a 0.7 ohm rba for a friend who was so sick of the occ coils she was ready to start on the stinkies again.

A couple of weeks ago I had yet another moment on GB and bought a Subtank nano and some Ni200 coils to go on an Istick 40tc. No major problem with the set up and it runs quite nicely. Thing is instead of a second pack of 0.15 Ni200s I somehow ordered a pack of coils with a red insulator Original Kanger Nickel Alloy OCC - NICKEL ALLOY 0.2 OHM nothing listed about these anywhere besides GB and they are described as Nickel Alloy OCC for temperature control mods Pure organic Japanese cotton wicks, They are not even on the Kanger website but the serial number check pans out. Kind of confuses because like the Ni200 coils my ohm meter wont settle on a stable reading close to their rating, but in TC mode both IpvD2 and istick read them ( I've checked the whole pack) steady at .18>.22 . Any idea what have I purchased? Should i be using them in standard power mode or TC? thanks Steve

All I can say is WOW! I mixed up 30ml yesterday, its my very first attempt at homemade juice. It was mixed yesterday morning and put away at the back of my vape draw. Sure no problem I can wait 3 weeks, cast iron will power. And this afternoon I picked up the bottle and noticed the colour change that was taking place, I gave it a shake, took a sniff and foolishly put a few drops of KK in the dripper over the top of a tropical fruit combo I made yesterday afternoon. Just 24 hours after mixing and wow, tropical fruits with custard, mouthwatering! KK on a new wick just to make sure Damn .... whats it going to be like in three weeks? I've made another 120ml
