awww...Scylla not frantic, more just a bit frustrated, and trying to figure the best way of implementing this new diet, mainly having his food organised for others to dish up when i'm working, etc he's a happy pooch tonight, with his bone...he has a chew, then lies flat out on the floor for a disco nap, then back for another chew, takes it for a walk to the kitchen and back, nother wee chew.... the nice butcherman gave me 2 huge meaty bones for nothing when i bought some beef hough boy those groups are a days work to join you need to send an intro, telling them various info up to and including, your knicker size and wot you had for dinner a week ago last sunday... and they want your isp email, which is a problem for me as i haven't used it for several years, shall have to go a hunting in progs as i haven't even used outlook express for years either... im a right grump tonight, eh? lol

Lilac, Don't flap about this.... The thing is, you have already started, and Tyson isn't going to suffer from any deficiencies in diet whilst you decide on how to feed him from now on! I'll try and find you some links to suppliers in your area. Did you ask your butcher if he did 'doggy mince'? There is really nothing easier than slinging raw meat into a bowl and putting it down on the floor. You can take out of the freezer the night before and it will be ready for the next day. You can add the refinements when you are home to do so. Don't overthink this. Tyson is a dog, dogs eat meat. Anything else is a bonus.

Hi Lynda...lol at me flapping I asked if he did 'doggie' stuff, as in off cuts or whatever...but they don't It's more cos i want to use mostly chicken, as i think it agrees with him better, or at least, the times he's broken out badly with scabs has usually been if i've tried him on a beef variety of kibble, altho it could have been some of the other stuff in there as well, no real way of knowing.... im gonna investigate a mincer for the chicken, don't fancy fighting with the processor again, altho i did find a site which does ready minced stuff, and there's a couple of stockists near me, so will try those, until i get brave enough to just give him the wings whole

I know nowt about dogs but I have seen a company online that deliver natural, frozen dog meat - not sure how well the price will work out, but to save you a life of grating chicken bones it may be worth a punt. www.naturalinstinct.com/products/Chicken.htmlEdited to say - should be meat for dogs, not dog meat.....

Thanks Jaki, they want £6 for delivery tho, unless you're ordering £80 odd worth, as does this place, but there's a couple of local places stock it, so i can just go pick up a few bags

I got a couple of bags of the minced chicken and the lamb, and noticed that they also do their own packs as well, which are cheaper, so i'll try those next time i go oh golly gosh tho!!! Tyson bloody STINKS!!!!! he always manages to lie at my feet when he lets them go!!! is Mungo smellier, Lynda? he had a whopping great turkey leg for his dinner last night...oh how he enjoyed it, took him more than an hour to eat it, made entertaining watching tho, i put him outside with it and watched through the patio door in case he started bolting it, but he was fine, i took it away from him when it got down to the last bit tho, as i was afraid he'd just swallow it whole, he was disgusted with me

It would terrify me to see them eating poultry bones - but I was at my friend's (a long time ago, when I used to go out, in case you're thinking "Eh?!") and saw her throw down a chicken drumstick for her cat, and when I next looked it had totally disappeared - the cat had eaten every single scrap scylla

Mungo has never been a windy dog and that hasn't changed with his new diet. Was Tyson windy before? Could just be that his system is recovering from his previous diet.... Have you moticed any changes in his skin, or anything else for that matter....? He should probably be pooping more compact turds!

Yes, they are more compact Lynda, i've been poking them with a stick to ascertain the firmness He's always been windy but now he's worse... no change in his skin, he's still all lumpy, poor love...you can clearly see where the lumps are, cos his fur is raised where they are.... i'm gonna keep him on chicken for the time being, then try lamb, to see if there's any improvement
