Also.... If you hold the vapour in your mouth for 1-2 seconds and exhale slowly, there will be hardly any noticeable vapour. And definately no nasty smell of smoke. I was rather chuffed to realise this myself the other day. It makes discreet vaping on trains etc very easy. You lose out a bit on flavour I find, but it's a godsend when you don't feel comfortable in blowing out a cloud of vapour. 3 weeks vaping for me, not even a thought about having a cigarette. Save up for a while, get a decent set-up and find a liquid you like and trust me, you'll realise that this really is the cure for smoking we all spent years dreaming about.

Thanks a million for all your encouragement and advice.
I have decided to get the Ego-C Twist vv because it seems to fit the bill for me. I'm thinking of buying:
1 Charger 2 Batteries (1000 Mah Steel or Black) 1 Vision Vivi Nova V25 Long Wick (still not certain what that is but it looks impressive) 1 Box of 5 Boge 510 Low Resistance Cartomisers
I think that's the lot except maybe drip tips? From what I can see, drip tips look like the part that goes in the mouth. I had a look but there is such a huge range I'm not sure what to choose. I don't think I would like the round ones. Would the flat tips be ok? They seem to come in plastic, rubber or steel. Don't fancy putting steel or rubber in my mouth, so would plastic be best?
Am I leaving anything out? I know I'll need juice but I want to get the gadget sorted before going through all the flavours.

With the twists, the mini nova looks nicer and still holds 2ml of juice.
They come with a drip tip.
Will need the thread cover.
If it vapeescape you are buying from, then you can ring jason, number on website, and he`ll talk you through it all. might be an idea to get the wall charger too, so not relying on computer usb to charge too much

Thanks Brian. I assumed the charger would be one that plugs into a wall socket, so I'll make sure to specify that.
Will I need 1 or 2 thread covers?
Do you know whether I can phone Vapeescape on Saturday because I'll be busy until the weekend. On second thoughts, maybe best to leave it until next week, giving me more time to choose flavours.

Jason is/should be there every day including sundays. but saturday afternoon and sunday wont be able to post.
You`ll only need one cover for threads as they are removable when you charge batteries.
The charger you buy can plug into the computer usb port, btu get the wallplug and charge it that way to save messing up your motherboard.
Might be better to get grizwalds pick n mix so you have a choice to start with.

The pick n mix juices are 5ml and pre-made, so ready to use.
If you find a flavour you really like, and want to order a 30ml bottle, then they are made to order. So will need steeping for a couple of days, to a week, for all the different flavours to infuse. Try and remember that when deciding what and when you need them

Thanks Chrissie and Brian. I'll phone Vapeescape next week to place the order. I'll definitely want at least one wall plug. The pick n mix should do for starters while I learn how to use the e-cig. I have plenty of cigarettes to keep me going until I find the right liquid for me. Time, now, to start researching cigarette tasting vapours. El Toro Puros as recommended by Ant are top of my list, but I'll need to get some other flavours just in case.
I really appreciate all the advice I have received in response to my questions and I apologise for not thanking everyone individually.

Ive quoted these a few times, people will start to think I work for them, but have a look at the tobacco reviews particularly the 'Halo" reviews, at www.vapenstein.com/its-aliveMy fave is Bella Valenta and Freedom Juice. good qualty juice with a particularly strong throat hit.

Hi Addict. Welcome to the forum. I just browsed through the thread and wanted to reply as your experience is so similar to mine (as well as so many others I'm sure). The advice you have had is fantastic (I only wish I had been so foresighted and found this forum when I started vaping). These are only my opinions and thoughts, and I apologies in advance if I am teaching you to suck eggs. Once you start vaping you will either find the ego type PV (personal vapouriser) suits you fine and stick to it or you will become obsessive and pationate about everything ecig and build up a fine collection of Mods (anything non standard, usually involving a separate battery that is charged then put into the part you hold in your hand). Needless to say I am now gaining quite a collection of mods. Eagerly awaiting my 14500 Sandart Cube that Daz from Safercigs is dispatching in the morning If you become the latter (and you will know within a month or so) and really want to make vaping a hobby, them my advice, if you can afford it, would be to go straight for the Provari at that point. I am hard on my PV's. I chain vape, drop them often and use very low ohms when the batteries probably can't really handle it. I started buying cheaper mods and tbh I wasted a lot of money as they all broke fairly quickly. My Provari (bought 2nd hand on a forum for £100) seems to take all the abuse I give it without hardly a scratch. Anyway the second piece of advice I would give is to visit Scott's website (he is something of a local vaping celebrity) www.e-cig-reviews.com/. He has many, many reviews on all kinds of vaping devices and also tutorials. You might like to watch the YouTube story of guy called Shawn in Canada who kept a video diary from the week before he moved onto ecigs for about 2 years. Much has changed technologically in the 3 years since he made the videos but his story helped me alot. www.zeecigs.comThirdly, and a few have mentioned this already, get several strengths of eliquid and plenty of it (at least 60 ml), as during the first week or so you might want to change strength based on how you are feeling, and you don't want to do what I did which was panic buy almost daily for the first 3 weeks. You have to be like a cub scout now and always "be prepared" as you cannot nip down to the local shop if you run out of anything (although increasingly i see ecigs in shops these days). I think that I must have spent £400 in my first month and £300 of this was unnecessary. Finally there are lots of different types of batteries (the bit you hold that supplies the power) and atomisers (the thing that screws ino the end of the thing you hold and heats up the eliquid until it becomes vapour), and they all produce slightly differing results, so don't be afraid to try different types of atomisers to find the one that suits you best - a cartomiser and vivi nova is a great starting point. Once you have done this you only need to find your "all day vape" (favourite eliquid) and you will be in vaping nirvana Good luck and enjoy your journey

Just a note on vaping in the NHS, I have been going to Addenbrooks just about every day for the past month and found that after staff become aware that it's 'not a real one' they have all been fine with it so far.

If after you find your happy with vaping Then you need more than one e-cig And should quickly stock up If you dont have spares life can very quickly turn to panic I would go for min of 2 chargers or leads,3 batteries ( min 650mah)3 atomizers Aim to keep yourself well stocked up with juice, min of 3 weeks supply at all times as the last thing you want is for your order to be lost or delayed in the post. Many on this forum have 10+ toys and tons of atomizers +e-liquids and thats just the normal people!
