Hi, 1 of my coils for my mini nova had gunked up badly even though I clean it with hot water quite frequently. I tried picking it off but it didn't move so I dry burnt it. It was so thick in gunk, it didn't glow for ages even on a high voltage, it just smoked and crackled for ages until finally, the gunk burnt away. The wick seems fine, but I'm now getting a strange taste. Will it pass? Can I do anything to sort it?
If not, do any suppliers sell a kanthel & fibreglass rewicking kit

Callum sells small 'kits' of wires and wick if you want to give it a try. www.health-e-vape.co.uk/rebuildable--atomizers-61-c.aspUsing AAEC will get 12% off your order if you decide on it. There are other suppliers of course but for a few quid it`ll help you decide if rewicking/coiling is your thing.

I'm getting to the end of my tether with this vivi tbh, I don't think it's built as good as others are. I want something with excellent build quality, flavour and vapour production. www.britvapes.co.uk/product-p/oct.htmthis looks nice, but I've not heard of it before. I would like to know more about these penelope's everyone seems to have, how good they are, (what they look like) and where to buy one from. Thanks.

Having similar problems, just pulled the head apart and it's thick with what looks like carbon deposits. Gives a burnt almost plastic taste, so going to try a mesh wick and see if that lasts any better.

I'm wanting something which you can fill up and vape, I'm not into things you need to top up because I do a lot of driving where I need to be on time so anything which I can just fill and go would be prefect so long as it's good quality. I do like the mini nova when it plays nice, the way it's designed to work is great, however mine just breaks all the time. I also wish I had bought the slightly bigger 1 now too. I find that I'm filing the mini up about 2/3 times a day

All atty coils will gunk up over time, how quickly depends on the type of e-liquid. With the Nova type, give it a good wash and then dry burn, without the rubbery cap on. Burn for about 10 secs, blow it to cool and help remove gunk. Eventually the coil will burn clear of gunk, maybe wash clean again, replace cap, fill and vape. It may take a little while for it to settle and any 'funky' taste to go.

I am only a novice but you said you dry burned it for ages.....it sounds as if you have charred the grommet that holds the positive wire leg in place

Have been having the exact problem and have also been whinging about it online. I think I've been swayed by the idea of a rebuildable genesis style atty and have been given a couple of examples that aren't too pricey :

I had a look at them genesis attys, they are not for me, I can guarantee I would loose the screws or something lol. I think I will have to wait for the v5 nova to come out (the 1 with the chrome tank with a viewing window and just pray that it's built better than my mini nova

I'm tempted by that Britvapes Tank, looks nice . . . not because I've any problems with the Nova's, the heads last for ages for me . . . that's with sweet candy type juices, I never clean them either, not into all that malarky. They're a disposable item, so at the end of their vaping life, I either ditch or recoil them.

like the look of that, macca...
chiller, if a vivi does your head in, then a rebuildable will probably make you want to blow your brains out...they're great when they work, but oh so frustrating to those who are new to them...
I advise you start off learning how to rewick and recoil your own vivi heads before you go down the rebuildable path....it's very easy, and here's a tutorial, if you're interested -
