Either .20 or as space is a bit limited on those I used .16. Obviously depends on what sort of resistance you are after

The Nova/MN heads you have been using have the resistance on them I believe. That will give you an idea of what you like. I would also recommend getting something like a multi meter, great for testing resistance, batteries and loads of other uses (fuses etc in the home)

I got Nickel Chrome Wire - 0.15mm - 5m from Cloud9, probably just because I was ordering stuff from there & I thought vaping company, they'll know what I need . 4 turns on my nova head gave me 3.1 Ohms, which is too high, I think, though perfectly useable with vv.

I’ve just checked the min nova and it came with three replaceable wicks with Resistance: 1.8 ohm, 2.4 ohms and 2.8 ohms. so how do you work out what wire to use when replacing the coil Sorry for being a pain. piper.

A .15mm or .16mm is easiest to use in the Nova's Piper, because as Roger said space is limited in them, the number of winds that you do, will then determine your resistance.
I do about 3/4 and get a res of around 1.8ohms.

Just to jump on this thread, where is the best place to get pre-joined wire?

Newbie here on this one, so a coil rebuild is a case of trial and error to suit whatever ? What is a roundish kind of figure in time that say a middle of the road atty would last, before it would need a recoil again.
