Coldsore

For the 1st time in my life I have gotten one.
Is it just a coinsidence or does vaping make you more susceptable to them or maybe all the tar and crap leaving my body.

Nope not the vaping or giving up tabs, Herpes simplex virus usually responsible for cold sores. you may have picked up the virus years ago and only now the cold sores are appearing. Have you been feeling run down or fatigued lately that can cause an outbreak or you been sharing your vape device with someone else ?

Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus carol and are infectious, dont think its possible for you to get one from vaping. Once you have had one you are unfortunately likely to keep getting them, my best mate sharon the shoulders suffers with them.

And yes once you get a cold sore they keep coming back im afraid i get about three a year. I blame it on me mother washing me face with a spat on hankie when i was a kid lol

Ah yes of course, well it could be that you over did the spinning and weakened your immune system which in turn if you already had the virus hiding could cause a break out in coldsores.

Hard exercise is known to weaken immune system for up to 12 hours after exercise could be that

Cas get some Acyclovir cream on it as soon as possible! Buy a spare tube and keep it handy to use if ever you feel one coming on as it can stop them!

Keep your Drip Tips clean so as you don't re-infect yourself!

Since I've went off the cigs completely about 3 days ago. I've had non stop coughing, runny nose, massive breakout of acne (which I've not had in years) coldsores and dry lips. Coming off the cigs is a big change and shock to your body, I mean it's become reliant on all those Chemicals for years.

It will be worth it all in the end though.

When i packed in smoking i got/still have a cold-sore , a big spot on my nose , a small spot in my ear , and the dryest nostrils ever,
I think its down to the quitting,
I would on any of the mornings when i woke up coughing my lungs up from smoking traded my cough for a cold-sore and a spot for a while lol,
Im sure it will go away and as has been said there's a variety of treatments to get rid of them

Am sorry to say there is no cure for cold sores, there are some topical medicines which subdue the visible symptom as mentioned.

Avoid any form of intimate contact with the affected area during an episode or you will transmit the virus. They primarily display around the mouth but can be present at any orifice with an abundance of nerve endings.

Most people are infected during childhood due to ignorance (never let well wishers kiss your baby) or in later life through intimate contact.

Coincidentally I got my first coldsore (in a few months) a week after vaping. I get them from time to time anyway and have done since I was a child so I doubt its down to vaping.
My guess is germs on your tip. With a cig you smoke and throw away, with an ecig your putting the same thing in your mouth over and over.

Don't worry about it.. they can be annoying, but such is life.

Edit: By the way, don't buy into any creams or ointments. They are a waste of money... I dont even know why they make them (suck people in and produce millions?).
The best help is an ice cube or dabbing strong cheap aftershave on it. Personally I don't even bother with mine...just let then come and go haha sick of trying
