I really dislike this, what seems to me vaping snobbery, regarding the latest gadgets, gizmos and must haves. I've got an eGo T and a Riva and nearly a year later im still using them, and very happily so. I've no inclination to move on to "better" things. To some of us, they aren't a "beginners kit", they're our regular kits and we're very very happy with them thank you very much! Boo, it has NOTHING to do with snobbery, I am happy you are happy with your ego T and your riva, but if in the first place you were introduced to something better and just as easy to use at the same price, you would be none the wiser and have exactly the same thoughts as you do now.

I'm recommending vaping now to others all the time so I'd be interested at where I can get these better options at the same price so I can also recommend them to friends and others. Along with my question several pages back about upgrading to a vv/vw for my Riva.
Maybe the Riva is getting recommended so much as it's from people actually bothered to offer the advice in first place and provides links?
I'm still learning mybad and really would appreciate your help and input?

Mark, if you want to try vv and you already have a Riva kit, a Spinner or Twist will work with everything, including your charger, that you have

It's a bit longer than an 1100 Riva with a dial at the bottom to adjust the voltage from 3.2 (I think) to 4.8v The higher the voltage dial the hotter the vapour, but go too high and the juice burns and tastes nasty. Generally I find different juices burn at different temperatures so it's a bit of trial and error to find the voltage that's best for you.

When I joined this forum I read all the posts recommending the Riva 1100. I took the advice and ordered. All that I can say is this is the best advice I could have been given. I wanted something ready to go and I got what I wanted. In the future I may or may not have a better one but for now I am happy with what I have. In fact I love it so much I ordered 2 more kits, a spare for me and one for my mum. I would not hesitate to recommend this kit to anyone starting out. And as for Jason at Vape Escape he has been brilliant and a huge help and this is what beginners need when starting out. Have you tried anything else ? if not how do you know it is the best advice you could have been given. Having just put out my last fag with the help of some Nicolites, I found this forum. I read. And read. And read. And read some more. 'A' said the Riva kit was good for beginners 'B' said the Riva kit was good for beginners 'C' said the Riva kit was good for beginners 'X' said the Riva kit was good for beginners ...ad nauseum. I wanted something simple. Something effective. Something that didn't look like the Telecom Tower with knobs and googas hanging off it. I wanted to screw a couple of bits together, whack in some juice and start to smoke (only not smoke if you get my gist?) The Riva still floats my vaping boat and ticks all my boxes. Guess I'm just lazy in not looking for an alternative that will deliver exactly the same results to a relative newcomer. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. I'm a sheep. Now put your wooden spoon down and stop stirring.

I do actually want this upgrade and wasn't trying to stir anything up. I'm not into internet gang up's as I've seen it happen on to many forums and it gets ugly. I was asking mybad if he knows of these better deals then to share them with us newbies. I'll go and look at the spinner and twist. Which one do you think is the better of the two, or are they on par with each other?

Mark, i have a couple of Twists and they've been great!
This will sound like nit picking, but it really is difficult to see where you're positioning the dial on the Twist, the markings aren't at all clear. That, however, is my only gripe about them!
I've only just bought a Spinner, very happy with it and the dial is so much clearer! will I still sing it's praises in 6 months time, who knows?

Thanks again Karma.
Hmm would it be worth me getting both?
Another quick question that may sound dumb, is an Ego-T the same as a Twist for a Riva?
Sorry to hijack your thread mybad, although I am still keen to know where the kits you speak of are available at the same price so I can recommend them to friends or at least give them the option as well as recommending the Riva.
