I've bought a twist & a Vamo, but hardly use them. Mainly use my old GGTS & old Riva batteries. Plus I've recommended the Riva kit to neighbours & friends of neighbours & they are all still using & loving them.

Regarding the centre pin issue, I've had that with both Riva and Ego batteries! Easy fixed if you know how!

It seems to me that anyone suggesting the Riva kit is not that great is missing a business opportunity if they have a better proposal. I can sort of see what mybad is saying with it being the only option suggested to newbies, but it does work (aside from the centre pin issue) and cuts through the fog of information to get someone vaping. As far as I know, Jason at VapeEscape actually surveyed what people would want from a starter kit and came up with a winner. That's business, and good on him for doing it. I certainly think he's a great vendor, I didn't even feel the need to do a review after buying from him as his company is so well run. Rock solid, reliable and the benchmark as far as I can see. There's no point grumbling it could be better and then come up with a proposal, which to use an analogy, sounds like how to rebuild a carburettor before you can drive, when all you want is a car that gets you from A to B. To repeat my original point, the bar has been set very high to match that Riva kit for newcomers to vaping. I also think everybody recommending a different starter kit would probably leave newcomers in a worse position than they started. I'm not saying it should be a monopoly, but there's nothing that cuts through the minefield of vaping goodies like a fairly unified response. (And yes the centre pin issue has raised it's head a few times with me as well )

At the end of it all, all you more experienced vapors will understand what newbies will miss out on by not being able to adjust to that sweet spot we all know, simply by being stuck at a set voltage, now that is a real shame and could put SOME people off continuing with the new found vaping experience,as I have witnessed this myself. which maybe avoided by a SIMPLE vv device, come on its not really that hard, IS IT.

The way I see it, everyone wants to vape for health & financial reasons, it's a way to try & kick the fags & we've all found it works. Some are now more into it & have taken it to a different level with all the shiny gadgetry & it's turned into a hobby too. Most noobs need something that is simple & that is proven to work, the Riva kit fits that bill perfectly, with everything you need to get started from under one roof. There's an awful lot of us that started on them & are over the moon it got us on our way. After a few months, with some, it's days lol, folk start moving to VV, rebuildable, wicking etc but it's whatever floats their boat. Always best to start simple & move up, it's less confusing too. Personally, I'm happy with my Ego batts, one now a Twist. (I'm getting a Spinner soon, as they're easier to read, apparently, plus I love a particular colour. lol) I have a mini nova & it's still in it's box, as I'm totally happy with non rebuildable clearos & cartos, that's after 6 months. I'm off the weed & saving money AND I enjoy the vaping I get with my few simple bits & pieces. Reading some of the many posts on here, after a noob has received their Riva kit, they're cock-a-hoop, so viva la Riva!

most of us (well i did) started with a riva THEN move onto VV or somesuch. its kind of a win win for us and venders. we grow in confidence to try the more (to me) complicated gadgets. i'm getting a spinner this weekend with VV so hopefully will find that vapour sweet spot but i am looking into a vamo, which i do plan to buy once i work out the spinner. jumping straight onto the vamo would have been too much for me. anyway, you can never have too many backups ..... can you?

I think you misunderstand what many people who start vaping are trying to do. I've been vaping a month, have no intention of finding out "sweet-spots" or how good it can be. I merely want to stop smoking. I haven't started vaping to get into some nirvana of nicotone consumption, I want to get off the tabs and ultimately vaping too if possible, that's my goal. I may be alone, but I don't want to be spending a fortune on vaping as I see it as the first step in giving up nicotine. If I can do that on a small Riva battery (or my Ego-Twists) then I have no compunction to spend a fortune on anything else - that's not to dismiss those that do, but I don't want or need any of that to get me to give up the smokes.

I can see your spinner not getting used much when you get your vamo, unless your size conscious.
