I'm hating this show all the more and I haven't seen it yet.
Luckily I never watched it since they had that fat **** Chiles on there and I've always hated him and something tells me I'm not likely to become a fan now.

Is there anyone unbiased we can complain too?
After-all we all know how good BBC are at in house investigations... Saville...

Submitted the following complaint - wanted to write 3 times as much but it's late and I'm tired - just wanted to get something in there!

"The article on e-cigarettes was biased, ill-informed and divisive. Thousands of users have stopped smoking tar and carcinogen filled cigarettes in favour of e-cigs which have less ingredients than a nicotine patch as prescribed by doctors. Your report was typical of the sensationalist reporting I have noticed creeping into the BBC, with no regard to the facts or basis in reality. You staged a mock public opinion poll by planting e-cig users in a food court - prior to the smoking ban even smokers disliked other smokers who smoked in food consumption areas so this was a divisive test. Even so you could only find two people out of the whole crowd to say anything against the e-smokers and their comments were wishy washy (one said it didn't seem right while the other admitted they realised it wasn't a cigarette) hardly a damning criticism of this safe alternative to smoking. I would ask that the One Show present this issue again with expert medical opinion and a lot more focus on public opinion. I use an e-cigarette all the time in public and The only comments I have received have been positive ones."

Talk about jumping through hoops to complain, I reckon they're trying to discourage people. This is my complaint


I wish to complain about your negative portrayal of electronic cigarettes. Although interviewing the vendor was good, it sadly went downhill from there.
Electronic cigarettes produce water vapour. The vendor clearly stated that. Boiling kettles also produce water vapour. Gtanted there may be some extra ingredients in there. PG, VG,a very small amount of nicotine and flavouring.
PG is what makes the steam from smoke machines.Whole rooms full of party goers breathe this in on a regular basis. How many of those complain of passive smoking?
VG and PG are regularly included in foods and medicines.
Most flavours used are actually food flavourings.
Nicotine in itself is no more harmful than coffee and both are addictive. Low levelsof nicotine ca nbe found in several fruit and vegetables. Should we therefore not allow children to eat vegetables in case it makes them want to smoke?
I am aware I am sounding rather ludicrous now. However I am no more ludicrous than some of the points in your film. Eg, the reporter who quit smoking 28 years ago. Would you allow an ex alcoholic to try a new alcohol?
Before vaping I was caught between a rock and a hard place. Smoking helped my severe depression, but also exasperated my asthma. I would be admitted to hospital 2-3 times a year with asthma attacks. Since switching I very rarely even need my inhalers.
I ask you to now make another film showing the positive side. I would be happy to help you with this as a real vaper who actually knows the facts.

If anyone else complains and has room could you please make the following point which I forgot.

Is it any wonder the public have negative views on it when the media constantly portrays it in such a negative manner. This isn't only wrong but could also lead to people dying if they believe the negative press and therefore do not switch.

I'll force myself to watch it tonight and then complain to the BBC and Ofcom.
I can't complain till I watch it unfortunately.

But I agree with you Ratfinkz,
The trouble is dirt sells, no one is particularly interested to hear something is good for you just as no one cares if a celeb has behaved themselves at a party or a royal sunbathed clothed.
Even though the BBC don't make money out of viewing figures they have to justify their budget on it so fall into the same trap.
It's human nature, people want to hear bad news and be shocked.
