Quote Raggy:the American one is out as i dont want to buy from America. That was only there because they had pictures of the MarkII. I have never investigated it before because it's completely irrelevant to my needs, set up as I am with a MarkI with 2 noses Quote Me: This is the MarkI (which Chrissie, Keef and I have) from the original inventor/manufacturer, Trog Trog is the guy who made it, based in... is it Darlaston? That's the DSE905 (Chinese rip-off of Trog's SD) which had to be recalled but I understand that probs are now fixed. I forgot that George had them, that's why I ended up spending half the night trying to find a stockist with decent photos (so you could compare with an SD) and ended up- posting an American site. Who says that the SD MkII is made in America? I didn't know that. I think that Trog "went in with" Jason/TW because he needed more resources, and after Jason had been selling the SD for a short while the MkII was dreamt up - Jason is very safety conscious and the MkII is designed to take an even safer, purpose-built battery and with a safer(?) button than the MkI. Trog is still selling his original MkI.
Jason/TW sells the MkII (others may do too, I don't know)
George/OKS sells the DSE905 (and others do too)
Remarks - the MkII is going to be more expensive to run if you stick to the ultra-safe batteries; there's a warranty on the DSE905 if you want to save a few bob and try it out; despite Trog's "gruffness", he has served me well with repairs/replacements. scylla Edited for SOME OF THE typos.

the deal for the mk2 is £72 with p+p, the mk1 is £47 with p+P but you dont get nothing with it. the mk2 seems all round better value. do you agree? ragjoy.........

As I said in another thread, the MII is a very well made, good quality item. It's well worth watching Igetcha69's You Tube review on it. I'm pleased with mine other than I prefer to use it with the 'original' DSE901 atties and carts; the versions sold with the SD on TW are 'generic' (RN somethingorother) and have a larger whistle type mouthpiece; the DSE901 carts don't 'wick' properly with the generic atties that have a different bridge type (I find). I purchased a kit from Trog's site containing one 901 to 510 adaptor plus two 510 atties that work perfectly with the MkII. I would recommend the MkII - it's a very good piece of kit and quite a conversation piece. Fox

Don't be put off ragjoy. I get my DSE901 atties from Liberty Flights (ECR69 will get you a 15% discount). The OKSmokey ones are also fine (or have been in the past). If you like the 510 atties, the little adapter ring I got from Trog is great. The SD kit full kit from TW came complete with two generic atties that had empty carts as protectors. I use those with my own filler so they're not wasted anyway. If you like direct dripping, the generic atties are fine for that also. Loads of people prefer the RN type 901 atties anyway - I just couldn't make mine work and TW replaced them both for me; perhaps I was just unlucky! Do take a look at igetcha69's video clip on You Tube: T4BE699 will get you a discount from TW. www.youtube.com/user/igetcha69#p/u/3/EysT5P7MrygFox

The thing to remember is, you'll simply be using your existing atty with a slightly stronger and quite-a-bit longer-lasting battery. You can get generic 901>510/801/103 (can't remember the Supermini number) adapters. I'm getting deja vu here scylla

WooHoo Well done ragjoy
Remember you are unlikely to receive any product you order from China untill the end of the month , may even be mid March depending on how many back orders they have to deal with.
