Hi prof thanks .
Wonder if the Titan Mega Atomiser will match the colour of the Gold MK 1 .
Not seen anyone put up pics of the gold one apart from the one in the SD shop.

It's so good that the adapters are now so much easier to get hold of. It's also good to see from your link prof that Liberty Flights have the 4081 double carts for sale

Forgot to say (not that it's of interest to anyone except me )... my batteries were despatched by Deal Extreme yesterday. I ordered them on the 9th, obviously not soon enough to miss their New Year shut-down on the 14th - they always take a few days to process orders, I shoulda known better Presently I am managing by changing my batteries rather frequently scylla

I frankly wouldn't worry too much about Screwdriver batteries and protection. Trog has deliberately tried to "blow up" an SD and failed. Both models of SD also have a spring which will melt in the event of a short circuit and act as "a fuse".
All the hooror story events reported on forums about blow-ups have involved 6v devices using two batteries - I strongly suspect it is the two battery scenario - especially two unprotected batteries - that is the main cause for concern.
Whilst anything is possible, a lot of SDs have been sold and there have been reports of such problems...

I'm quite happy to use unprotected batteries. I won't leave them charging unless I'm about and will time them as I'm not sure how they behave when charging is complete. I never use batteries in tandem and I'm pretty certain all will be fine in normal usage. Trog's SD offer is brilliant but too late for me. My SD is of such good build quality that I can't imagine I will ever need another. (famous last words!) Fox

Built-in obsolescence is the way to keep in business. Fox

I've just emailed the caveman for a price on the 2 for 1 offer on those SD mk1's, 510 version.
i think it will work out a slightly better deal than getting the Mk2 from Totally Wicked. With that you get the 1 body, 2 batteries and 2 atties - about £68 with discounts.
Doing it the caveman way, you get 2 bodies, 4 batteries and 4 atties for hopefully no more than £85. Just need confirmation of the postage for the whole lot together. So for an extra £17, you're getting an extra body, 2 batts and 2 atties.
Just trying to convince myself lol, I have the last batch of cash from when i sold my duty free cigarettes last month, gotta make it count. Think it will be worth it in the long run going the SD route, and use my regular 510's for pub use.
