This is the MarkI (which Chrissie, Keef and I have) from the original inventor/manufacturer, Trog: www.cavecom.com/screwdriver/shop/shopindex.htmOnce I got a neck lanyard I stopped dropping it and breaking the button, and my final replacement came wit a fat button, which also cured the wobbliness that Chrissie's suffers from. They all come with fat buttons now. Trog is a somewhat gruff character but I'm sure you would deal with him fine. It's only scaredy-cats like me who have a problem, and the problem is really mine. Trog was almost a one-man band, working with his son. He then started selling via Jason/TW. Now, the MarkII is sold by TW. it takes different batteries from the MarkI, I believe they are protected where the MarkI's are not. www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/electronic-cigarette-screwdriver-products.htmlThen there is the cheaper Chinese rip-off, the DSE905. It was recalled shortly after introduction, I think the problem was fixed, anyway you can see what it looks like here (I was going to point you to Amy's site but she doesn't have it at the mo): (I risked my life for you surfing this next site - don't go there until I've scanned my netty ) OK, my scan has only found cookies. www.buy-electronic-cigarette.org/dse-905-e-cig-starter-kitThe Screwdriver will work with your 901 atties, but you can get adapters if you want to switch to 510, 801, or 103 (Titan, Classic, Super are other names for those). I'm super myself tonight - super-flushing, that is, so bibi for now, scylla EDIT yet again: Jaki may be buying a DSE905 from Liberty Flights: www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=53

My PC and Laptop are as clean as a whistle. I'm running Avast on one and AVG on t'other. Google search doesn't find any problem with TW site either. *unsafe site alert* feature. Fox

There's a colon missing after the bracket, Foxy I had gone back to add that warning but was in the throes of a major flush, couldn't get out fast enough. You know how it is when you're nervous for some reason, then there's a noise or movement and you jump out of your skin? Well, I was obviously a bit dubious about that site, and they had a popup questionnaire that didn't like displaying on my tiny screen, and later I saw something trying to open up in my bottom-right corner It was only after all this kerfuffle that I realised it was FEBE trying to tell me it was time to back up FF I'll edit my post now. I expect Keef or Chrissie will add useful SD info later tonight or tomorrow. scylla

Scylla there is not much to add The MK 1 SD now comes with a removable switch so if you do break it, it is easy to replace......... or it should be The Classic SD is a 801 and NOT a special kit , the 801 atomiser delivers more flavour but has less oomph it is also larger than the other models, unless you particularly like this model I would stick with researching the 901/mini or the 510 .

The SD MkII (from TW or TECC) has all the attributes of a 901 but with far superior battery life. The vapour production is good with the standard 901 atty (although the ones that are included in the kit are generic and not the original DSE version). I bought a 901 to 510 adapter from Trog's site together with two 510 atties (a pack) as I prefer the better vapour production they give me. As far as I'm aware the Mk11 only comes with a 901 fitment.
The batteries for the MkII are double-protected and were made/sourced especially for that model.

the mkI seems to be uk but the site is a .com is it uk based or just a outlet?
anyway im still going through your replies.
thanks again everyone.
has anyone heard of a SD called the TROG?

Raggy, the www.cavecom.com/screwdriver/shop/shopindex.htm as you say is a .com site but Trog, the original maker of the SD, is in the UK & that is his site. Some people on ECF got confused & called the Screwdriver "Trog" after the name of the maker. I'll have to leave it up to someone else to help with the MK11 batteries.

Is it ok to use a higher mAh battery in the SD? The TW ones are 900mAh. I'm a bit of a Doris when it comes to batteries! ??? Also is it safe to use batteries that aren't double protected? I don't want to blow my face off! It's a nuisance to have to send abroad for the things too!! Still, I may be doing quite a bit of 'abroad buying' soon! Fox

Fox, it's fine to use a higher mAh battery. It just means they last longer before they need recharging.
I've never had a problem with any of my unprotected batteries when using just one in a device. The time they tend to become unstable is when using them in tandem. However, if any ones mod does take protected it really is safer to buy them, not just for when you are vaping with them but also for when charging them.
I really don't know how much safer doubly protected batteries are compared to just protected.

TW's blurb says that not only are their SD batteries protected when charging but they also include an anti-short circuit gizmo (or words to that effect). Me nervous! Fox
