Sorry but I don't think marching down to 10 Downing St, would do us any favours, what we need and I think this has all ready been said is media exposure.
By this I mean a joe public e-cig user, and even better a celeb, not a vendor or some committee who represents them.

At the moment we are probably close to 1 million vapers. Sounds great doesnt it?, sounds as if we would have a lot of clout. The trouble is we are 1 million INVISIBLE people. Yes, we need media exposure, but the only way we are going to be seen as 1 million people is to be visible and the only way to do that is to be SEEN.......TOGETHER. We have all the good news messages that we need about the undoubted benefits of vaping. At the moment, non-smokers couldn`t care less about us (they feel superior and dont see it as affecting them) and also smokers are hiding away from the benefits of vaping because they fear they wont get the nicotine hit that they didnt get the last time they tried to give up. So the good news about vaping is tucked away in the recesses of people`s minds. The good news about vaping needs to be seen by everybody, but at the moment the only real media coverage is about the possible perceived downsides of vaping. That is what is happening at the moment and it clearly isnt working, it really does need to change. We need to step out of the shadows IN NUMBERS. At the moment, the only people who really care about vaping are the people who have made that step. You can only fix ignorance with education, the vast majority of people simply do not know the benefits that there could be to their friends and loved ones who are still smoking. There is no channel for that information to come out. We dont have access to any other way of informing people other than by word of mouth. A well supported march would be a great step in the right direction......................in my opinion. Dont forget, the only people reading this thread and god knows how many similar threads around the UK and beyond are VAPERS

Here Here Robby until we all stop moaning in private and actually scream and shout unfortunately the bulldozers are just going to come and roll straight over us, then we will have to put up and shut up. Guys if we cannot agree on getting out there and being seen lets all try and at least think of other options , we are all in control of our own destiny and we could all say someone else should take that responsibility why cant we make this into a community event in which we can all have fun and save a good cause at the same time, if we all look at returning to stinkies as life threatening then what would we do if an army entered our territory and threatened us. Guys this is important enough for us all to stand and be counted even if its on a Sunday when everyone can attend, if we informed all of the press then we would atleast make the first dent in being heard surely if we arrange something with the other forums we should be able to amass in the thousands and with the right stories printed on banners our message would be heard.

I think a March or protest is a good idea, a sort of giant Vape Awareness/Protest Meet, or a Vape Awarness/Protest Meet in several locations across the UK, all on the same date and at the same time.
If people had such a meet at different locations, Inform you local Newspaper and Invite your local Cllrs and MP. They don't mind knocking on your door when they want your support and vote.

If it was organised I would definitely go. In fact, whoever was in charge of organising it, I would happily help them, but I just don't think enough people would make the effort to come to London. Even in this thread there is only a small number of members contributing to it.

I think you are right Dolly, what we need is one of the vapers organisations that contribute to this forum and many others to organise it, then it would have a good chance of getting good numbers There are also a lot of venders out there who maybe need to be thinking about supporting something like this for obvious reasons.

Yes 356 views on this thread and only 36 posts so if 10% post how many would actually attend, shame really as everyone will moan if we lose our rights altogether.

The viewed number is skewed. As everytime someone views a new post, it adds another veiw on. And lets not forget the number of guests.
The thing I can see about a 'peaceful' demonstration is that they very rarely are 'peaceful' and the minority put the majority in bad light. And lets not forget those that just turn up to fight.

I understand what you are saying matt1988, but it is hardly controversial enough to find too many enemies

Sorry, but it made me laugh. I think large percentage of us are middle aged or older. I know I don't have rioting genes left in me!

The media is definitely the key, as it is they who are currently spreading the misinformation. We need some way of redressing the balance.
I participated in a Motorcycle Action group protest last year where over 40,000 bikers blocked almost every motorway in the country for an hour at the same time on a Sunday afternoon.
Anyone hear about it? No... because the media didn't care to report it.
In these times of celeb worship we need a spokesperson who is respected but not a childrens role model but is in the public eye.
There must be someone other than Jodie Marsh vaping surely?

Simon Cowell is vaping apparently. Whether he still is using his cig-a-likes or not I don't know.
