Actually, I'd be tempted to go back in whenever your next appointment is and ask her to explain in detail how precisely vaping differs from NRT given what's on their own website and that e-juice has fewer ingredients than NRT! Warpath! That is exactly what I am thinking now. Is there somewhere that lists what is in e-juice?

No human being should be a 'target', that's no way to treat anyone. This woman clearly does not know what she's talking about in any way. If it was me, I'd probably make a complaint to whoever her superiors are based on this fact alone. And ridiculing the idea that Champix has no potential side effects - may I refer her to the really rather scary sounding list their own information leaflet has?? Anyone for gastrointestinal bleeding? No? Me neither! I also think my MP is going to get an email linking to that and telling him that e-cigs have fewer ingredients so how can they possibly be worse!

Now this may differ with cheaper juices, but the quality vendors and the stuff we tend to buy on here from UK vendors etc is; Properlyn Glycol Vegetable Glycerine Flavouring Nicotine.

just caught up with this thread... sammy, don't listen to the ignorant, pharma-bribed ......person who fed you the crap earlier... the advice you've been given on here I can't add to as it's been pretty comprehensively said already, but this I will say.... Be Proud, be VERY proud, of what you have achieved - and NEVER let anyone who doesn't get it tell you otherwise

All the rest she only briefly mentioned. I said the only one that I could consider was the inhalator but she couldn't tell me anything about it. It tells you about it on the website so why doesn't she know this at least? Also she said some people use 2 or more nrt devices to help them stop, but I can not use the inhalator if I am vaping ? Another reason to ignore any 'advice' she gives you. Sounds like a tele-sales rep reading from a script!

Been reading through the short list of side effects of champix. I can not believe it is legal. I know not everyone gets them and all drugs have side effect leaflets in them, but some of these are really bad. I would like to think that my gp wouldn't have actually prescribed them for her to give me, as I have a lot of those health problems already, my heart happily beats at 180 beats per minute whilst resting at times without any help from champix, not to mention at least half a dozen other things that I battle with daily..

Sammy, I've battled with depression for most of my adult life & therefore my GP wouldn't prescribe Champix for me - thank goodness. she was clued up enough.

Oh believe me the GP would of, I have documented history of severe depression to the extent i was assessed for bi polar disorder, and I was still prescribed them, luckily I came off them before it got to severe, but I did have a mental breakdown at work and started crying uncontrollably

I have depression too, just a little though nothing real bad, I've been on Prozac for nearly 20 years. That was how I knew about zyban because I once considered going on wellbutrin which is zyban as far as I know.

varenicline blocks nicotine from acting on the nicotinic receptors. This prevents any nicotine inhaled in tobacco smoke from having a rewarding and enjoyable effect
She quoted this to me, yet she doesn't know how the inhalator works.

Posted elsewhere but Confessions of a Prescription Drug Pusher - Big Pharma doesn't really give a 'hoot' about the health of the patient - they just want them as a client FFS
