30 degrees in Scotland, has to be someone's idea of a joke I'm not cut out to survive in this heat, unless it's beside a pool with a handsome waiter serving cocktails Anyone else struggling?

Noooooooooooooooooooo.......you can't complain, you just can't!!! I think I'll get a flight up though, as it was only 25° here. Like your idea of sitting poolside & a handsome waiter. Mmmm....yes, I could go for that, even if it was only 10°!

Yes. I'm all damp and limp. Two fans going all day and night.
That's enough summer.

Too hot?? Pah!
When I lived in Adelaide it once reached 48 degrees!! I thought I was going to die that day. When we moved to Sydney I used to do a postie round regularly in high 30s. Thankfully, since coming back here I haven't suffered at all with the heat. I'd had good practice!!
Big mistake most people make is opening their windows! Always, always keep them shut and draw the curtains. Then, just put a fan on. It will circulate the cooler air.

After been in 30-36°c in Turkey for my honeymoon, I have to say it feels hotter here because it's so damn humid! I didn't complain once about the heat over there because it's a dry heat which I can handle... British 30°c makes me sweat my bollocks off!

Don't worry, give it another week or so and we'll be back into Winter. I'm sure that years ago you could at least distinguish between Autumn, Winter, Spring & Summer and more or less could set your clock as to when each season would start and finish, and be prepared. Recently however, we get all the seasons in one week, mainly Autumn & Winter. Only last week I still had to put the heating on at night. We seem to be getting 10 months of grey, with the occasional reminder of what Summer used to be like. So yes, it's too hot at the mo, and some of the clothes you ladies are wearing (or not wearing) just raises my temperature even higher!

I impulse purchased an 8 foot fast set 'paddling pool' yesterday for a steal, obviously for the enjoyment of my daughter! Four hours filling it up last night and today has been awesome. Little sunbathe and then into the pool for a cool down. Best summer purchase made. Will be a shame to return to work tomorrow.

Keep the curtains closed. I do have the windows open though just a tad, not wide.

I have finally taken my fleece off not been off since last October ( different ones I do wash honestly ), too warm? no way - below 20 and I'm freezing, I even wear fingerless gloves indoors. This is just right for me, it's not hot just nice.
