They are 650ah. So that doesn't sound so good then. But surely big battery means large cumbersome unit? There must be something that fits the bill! I do understand your point to be honest. In a month I have upgraded a few times, most folk do. Will this suit you, I don't know? But my fourth, and final purchase is going to me an smoketech Sid, four batteries and a charger. Reason for purchase, want lots of batteries charged up, for full days out. Will come back, edit and add the link of the device, the batts and charger are a seperate purchase. As I say it might not suit you? I really don't know. I have used evods, cool vape, and am now using an iclear30 tank. Holds more juice and is a top coil, so a much warmervape, which suits me better. My post might not help in the slightest, but just wanted to show you what I have gone for after doing this for 5 weeks. I started off with a intro starter kit, then bought two spare batteries, then purchased a vision spinner battery, then an itaste v3, and my final one will be the one I will post a link for. I will say I sleep better at night having spare batteries, running out of battery is no different than the stress level of running out of cigs, for me anyway. Ok, so will go find the link, brb....

Here it is mollywww.health-e-vape.co.uk/smok-sid-mod-body-only-4804-p.aspIf you imagine to set yourself up is maybe a months worth of cig money? Then there after you just need juice and spare attys. You tube have video reviews on this model, vamos and the other £40 mark vapers. Hopefully someone else will also come along too, that's just been my personal experience, it might not suit you. Good luck, not that you need it, just good luck as I do understand how you feel.

Molly, if you've been managing well enough with a cig-a-like battery, which will be no more than 180mAh, a 650 mAh battery will last you nearly 4 times as long between charges. Basically, the higher the mAh rating the longer a battery will last before needing charged again You are right though, the higher the mAh rating, the bigger the battery. Try one of those little blister packs, that Perpetua and I linked to earlier, and see what you think. The only reason I mentioned upgrading from there is, if you get on well with the larger battery you will need more than one, as you need something to use while the other one charges. Nothing to stop you just buying another of the same if you like it

Have a look at this pic: The two units on the right are 1300mAh Spinners, far right has a Vivi Nova on the top, middle has an Evod, on the left of the batteries is a mini Ego (650mAh I think) with a CE4 or something. The Spinners last twice as long but are not twice as big And an Evod will fit most batteries, so yes, they're a great investment and come in a whole host of lovely colours

Oh molly, I do feel for you!! I was as confused as you are when I started, but fortunately found this bunch of fully-informed enthusiasts soon after starting, and lurked for the first month reading and digesting the mass of information contained within this forum. With talk of eGo/510 batteries, mah (Milliamp per hour) ratings, Variable Voltage/Wattage, atomisers, clearomisers, cartridges, atty heads, Evods, Protanks, RBAs (believe me, you're not ready for those yet - ReBuildable Atomisers), and much, much more. You want something cheap and reliable, which isn't the size of a policeman's truncheon (Raffles alert!), reasonably discreet and feminine, and above all a product which will last you enough time that you feel as though you have got your money's worth, don't you? My advice, FWIW, would be to follow the link that our noble and illustrious leaders moderators gave you, and take the plunge. The batteries could be upgraded at some time in the future (and you seriously do need a spare, 1 at least), and the fitting on the batteries will allow you to use 90% of the tanks, clearomisers and cartridges on the market too. Ultimately it may remain in your drawer as an emergency kit, but it won't cost you an arm and a leg. Then, all you have to do is find one of the thousands of ready-made juices that you like - that's the fun bit Andy

Ah - just sussed it - Super-Shiny is on holiday, and his subordinate hasn't posted a link to his excellent guide. molly Read this excellent guide it will tell you everything you need to know about a Riva kit, but it also applies to an EVOD kit as well. I also thing Super-Shiny has done a guide to EVODs, but have a browse through the Tips 'n' Tricks board where you will find all the info you need about everything. As Karma said, a 650mah battery will last AT LEAST 3 times longer than your cig-a-like batteries

Hi Molly I started vaping back in February so I've been going nearly 6 months now. I have been careful to watch what I spend and haven't got carried away with buying loads of kit. I have spent £287 on kit and juice in the 6 months (inc postage) I have enough juice and kit to last about another 6 months. So at the moment vaping is costing me labout £50 a month plus I have a 6 month cushion if money is a bit tight one month. I go through about 1.5ml of juice a day If you can afford it you would be better to buy something like the spinner with the evod - the all purple one in Jen's pic - as I have just upgraded to that and personally think it's better (included in the above spend). Saying that I still use my riva and ego batteries with CE5 rebuildable clearomisers and am quite happy with them too. Hope this is of help and Good Luck with your Vaping

Morning molly, just wanted to clarify, my will this suit you? Sentence was about the model I may purchase, as you asked about a big boys toy. I didn't mean will vaping and the cost suit you. I have just re read my message and I worry it sounds I have a downer on vaping, I honestly haven't. Another thing...lol I hzve three evods, they have been great it's just I have a preference for a warmer vape, the evods are a cooler, smooth vape. I can imagine I will get back into these when I get my fruit flavours out of the cupboard. The other posters are the ones to listen to, just I am very new and understand your point about upgrading. I imagine if you get a couple of twists or spinners you will be good to go. At least with those two you have the extra power if you need it. Like I say, sorry if my other post reads as negative. So hard with the written word as you can't hear peoples sing songy happy voice.

Thanks again for so much help everyone. A good point was made about the battery I'm used to, I hadn't thought of that. So a standard Evod will probs keep me happy for a while anyway.
So the decision has nearly been made, just going to run it by you guys to make sure I understand.
Buy the Evod starter kit. I can get a bigger/better battery such as a spinner which will fit on the Evod body when I want to upgrade. Or/and buy the blister pack which is good value at £8, all of which will fit my Evod body?
Also there's talk of cool and warm vape. How would I know which one i like? Which vape are your standard cigalikes?
Now can I buy sample juices to try different flavours?
I'm good to go? Or have I missed something out?

Sounds good to me molly you'll only find out your preferences after a bit of experimentation! The site that sells the cheap blister packs also sells 100s of flavours of e-liquid which can all be bought in small 5ml bottles

If it was me, Molly, I'd buy a Spinner and a mini-ego battery or Evod battery as a back up, and a charger. Then 2-3 Evods with a pack of 5 spare atty heads. That will see you right for a good few months at the very least. Don't forget to check out the list of discount codes! You can then have a look around for some liquid from wherever you fancy. Alchemist's Cupboard is popular, but you can have a look around the vendors' threads for current deals, I think Vapourtine is doing some cheap offers. With variable voltage like the Spinner, you can adjust your vape's heat to the way you like it - the more volts, the hotter the vape. That's the great thing about VV

Thanks Jen. But I'm confused again. I can see you need back up batteries but why do you need more than one vaping unit? Is one Evod or whatever not enough? What do you do with the one you're not using? Is it sitting in a drawer?

What do you do with the one you're not using? Is it sitting in a drawer? Clearos? For more than one flavour Not everyone vapes more than one, but plenty do. So you can either buy multiple Evods (etc.) or be constantly cleaning one out to make way for another juice. And back-ups are always a good idea in case you break/lose/get a duff one. I have 6+ on the go at any one time so I can chop and change whenever I get bored of one flavour and need to re-awaken my taste buds. And sometimes, you just don't want what you've got! I have to be in the mood for mints, for example
