My concern is how much this is costing! I vape quite heavily, say a cartridge a day. I assume that buying liquid and refilling myself is a cheaper option.
Most of the ecigs and vaping units are quite masculine so which devices are a bit more feminine?
But I want a good vaping experience.
So.....
which unit should I get that gives
good vapour, good hit on throat, cheaper option for refilling, battery lasts, is in a girly colour, etc?
also how DOES the cost of refilling yourself compare with the ready made cartridges?
thanks for any replies!

As a lot of other folk pointed out on your other thread, get a Riva kit. I think one of the vendors does a pink kit - doesn't get much more feminine than that Refilling will almost certainly work out a lot cheaper than prefilled cartos. (Cheaper still if you mix your own juice) I've spent £300 in almost 4 months, but have enough supplies now to last me nearly 3 years

I don't have much to add to what has already been said. Great advice there. Welcome to the forum.

Hi The blister packs are good value for money, but the clearos can be annoying at times. I would seriously consider an evod kit, if looks are a concern www.vapeescape.co.uk/Deluxe-Vaping-Kits/EVOD-650/EVOD-650-Kit.html. Because the kit comes with spare heads, then this kit will last you a lot longer than a blister pack, and therefore isn't actually more expensive, and having two batteries is a very good idea

Switching to vaping from smoking sometimes seems to carry the misconception that you`ll save mountains of dough - if anything, it`s more expensive at least initally....and get the bug for trying out things - a recipe for ruination Find what you like and can use, mix your own, and savings can be made over the long term....the word cartridge in itself sounds expensive.

Thanks for replies ! I've heard of Riva and the Evo. But obviously haven't tried it, so who can tell me how they compare with your standard ecig such as GreenSmoke?
secondly just how fiddly is refilling etc and how long would you expect your refilled carto to last?
How much do you expect to pay for your 'juice'? Also can anyone tell me how much juice is in your average ready made cartridge so I can do a comparison?
Sorry for all these questions. But probably like most vapers, I've spent a lot already on upgrading, new kits, etc so don't want to keep wasting money. In fact I've got a drawerful! I want to stick with something!
many thanks for any replies.

molly - so did you not get on with your 10-motives then, or was it a greensmoke you use? Refilling a clearo/carto is about as hard as tying your shoelaces (I'm being serious there, less dexterous people can find it fiddly) Check the vendors board for prices of juice, & I would guess, if you fill your own carto, it would hold about 1ml.

Hi molly and welcome. I calculated that after the initial cost of hardware vaping costs me roughly: Pre-filled cartos £2.00 per day. Refilling cartos with pre-made juice £1.00 per day. Refilling cartos with home made juice £0.30 per day. This is based on average usage of about 2-3ml per day. Some days I do 5ml others I do 1-2ml.

I've used both. Currently using Greensmoke, but I think it's expensive! I seem to whizz through their cartridges and as its all online reordering costs money with p&ps, especially if you're running out and need a quick delivery. Other than the cost a fully charged battery and fresh cartridge is quite a good vape from Greensmoke. But most research tells me that any lookalike ciggie isn't that good a vape and the Riva, Evo , Vamo etc is a different animal, couple that with it being a cheaper option, then for me it's a no brainer. Also presumably you can see when your liquid is going to run out? Unlike the ready mades. like I said I don't want to keep wasting money and stick with something.

I had never heard of Greensmoke but I've just googled them. They seem very similar to the Vapestick I started with. The advantages of something like that is that all that needs to be done is to screw on the pre-filled cartridge The disadvantages are: the cartridges are generally expensive, the choice of flavours is limited and they are not customisable. With something like a Riva it is possible to customise everything to the way you like and the choice of flavours seems to be unlimited and much cheaper than pre-filled cartridges. DIY ejuices are even cheaper. If you are worried about filling a clearomiser or a cartridge, these bottles make it easier: www.vapeescape.co.uk/Mixology/Empty-Bottles/Empty-Needle-Cap-Bottles-10ml--30ml.htmlThey are available from other stores too so you may wish to shop around.

I always hate having to say use this or that...it`s all so subjective.... But, I`ll say a good starting point is an "eGo" battery - a good tradeoff between size and functionality compared to cig-a-like sized devices..... and an EVOD or Protank on top of it (I know there`s better options, but for a starter and to keep things very simple) (new users are pretty spoiled these days for ease of use I think) people, feel free to disagree or whatever.....I`m just saying what I think would be simple for someone without getting too involved, too early.... and mix your own juice - it`s NOT hard at all, that will slash costs from the outset.....finding a preferred flavour is by far more difficult

Hi molly. I started on a look-a-like e-cig and realised I was going to spend £2,000 minimum a year on this brand's cartomisers. (I spent under £800 on rolling tobacco and sundries). This is part of the reason I don't like these products and try to tell as many people as possible that it's just a straight rip-off, unless you can get by on very little vaping. It saddens me greatly - I visited a vaping shop in a nearby town (a low income area) and stopped in at a cig-a-like stall in a market. There was a pensioner complaining about using one £3.99 cartomiser per day and that the batteries were unreliable and some of the carto's didn't even work. £3.99 per day is not insignificant for some people (then again nor was £3.50 on packs of ten either). Basically, refilling is infinitely cheaper using either cartomisers of clearomisers, IF you can keep it simple with the right kit. A Riva with a stock of cartomisers and a few juice bottles could cost only £2 a day over a year. I went totally mad for months buying everything in sight. 4 or 5 kits, dozens of cartomisers, 20+ clearomisers, 30 bottles of liquid. I must have exceeded £1,000 already (I gave up counting on about £700). That's still under £3 a day and I have all these things accumulated which will last another year. Next year, if I go steady, it will be comfortably less. All this for not even as much a 1 cart per day by the most expensive product on the market.

I spent over 3 years worth of my normal cigarette budget in the first 6 months of vaping...but haven`t spent anything for the past year (that I didn`t want to of course) It`s all swings & roundabouts, as long as you don`t spend wildly more than what you did on the fags, it`s a winner surely ?
