It comes up with a pop up saying you can't have negative numbers ... kill the box and the offending numbers are highlighted in red ... trying to correct the problem only seems to exacerbate the problem ... It's just 'clunky' and Not particularly user friendly!!
It will tell you that you can't have -25% pg for instance ... increase the pg and it just increases the % ... it may just be me ...

What does the warning box do on EJMU? It pings at you and tells you that the ratios you have entered don't work! I.e. you have too much VG and not enough PG, or vice versa. Red text would be enough IMHO! Andy P.S. some way of integration with the Recipe threads on AAEC would be really cool (to say nothing of time-savings!)

I really like it. Sorry, I didn't realise the recipes go public and I merely put in a Capella stand alone recipe just for testing. I like the simplicity of it and the easy way of putting my default percentages and ratios. I am also using it on my iPad and so far no issues at all.

It is a nice calculator. The only drawback (for me) is that it is online only. I have periods of time with no net. But very useable when online.

Okay, brain freeze ... If it's showing a minus figure for PG when looking for a 50/50 mix with PG Nic Base, and all flavours are PG based how the hell can I correct that!!

You may not be able to achieve 50/50 if using PG nic base and PG flavours. Depends on the nic strength, % flavouring and the strength of your final juice. Apart from using higher strength nic base, lowering the final juice strength or lowering the % of flavour, there's not a great deal you can do.

In a word .... Bugger!!!! I'm going to have to get some VG Nic base or a higher % PG base I guess. All my flavours are PG and it's a bloody nightmare trying to achieve a 50/50 at 12mg ... However, what I can say is ... I have asked the program to do some pretty quick calculating (read me stabbing buttons left right and centre ) trying to reach an unobtainable target and not a stutter or stumble anywhere!! I'm loving the simplicity (from the users view) and cleanness of the interface.

chykensa & Wobblybootie - I think I'll just leave the red text in there as the warning for the time being. Negative values aren't an easy one to explain concisely (which probably indicates that I should elaborate at some stage). Roger - Not sure I'll be able to make it work offline too I'm afraid, quite a few of the elements required to do so are outside of my skill set. Blownupdolly - Glad to hear it's working well on the iPad! Recipes (and their ingredients) are easy to edit after you've saved. So far the only bug I'm aware of is when you enter a nic base strength of 0mg/ml (leads to a division by zero and the universe collapsing on itself). Please do continue hammering away and give me a shout if anything breaks! One of the next features I hope to work is an auto-complete on the ingredient name so that it's easy to get flavouring names accurately, including the manufacturer. To do so I'll need an exhaustive (or as close as possible) list of the flavourings that the most popular manufacturers offer... Ideas anyone?

I think you are on a hiding to nowhere with flavourings ... Unless you literally just stick with the well known ... TPA , Capella, CCW and F'Art etc. From what little I have read it would seem that folks are getting their flavours from just about anywhere that happens to sell the flavour they want to try!! You could end up with half of Asda and Tesco's. It seems like a huge amount of work to me. That said, it would certainly add to the potential accuracy / repeatability!! The only way I can see to build the database is to co-opt a couple of willing hands to target each manufacturer i.e. trawl the resellers and make a list of each flavour ... (Sorry I will be out of the country in a couple of days for a few weeks )

In my excel calculator, I have dropdown boxes for flavours that I own that are listed on a separate worksheet. Works well but i've tailored it for my needs.
Perhaps that's something you could do with your calculator for all of the main manufacturers and people can add their flavours to the database manually to populate the list with the more obscure as it progresses.
The list of flavours will be many hundred, perhaps topping a thousand or more with all of the different manufacturers and their own take on them now and in the future. This would make a massive list to scroll through so perhaps your auto-populate method may work. It's going to be a lot of effort though!!

Indeed - I counted 15 different flavouring suppliers on a quick first pass and I sure there are more! Thanks for the links Perpetua, I may well need them soon!

I've made a recipe BB code generator: the idea is to provide a button that copies the code to your clipboard so that you can easily paste it into forum posts. The end result should look something like this: wobblybootie's Butterscotch Bliss30ml @ 12mg/ml, 70/30 Nic base(27mg/ml, 100/0) | 44% | 13.20ml | PG | 1% | 0.30ml | VG | 30% | 9.00ml | CCW Butterscotch | 12% | 3.60ml | TPA Caramel (Origional) | 8% | 2.40ml | TPA Baverian Cream | 3% | 0.90ml | TPA Dolce De Leche | 1% | 0.30ml | Eythel M | 1% | 0.30ml |
Edit/copy/share this recipe: dot1ml.com/mixer/5vpme7jNote - I haven't added this to the site yet, just wanted to find out if you guys thought the format would be useful.

Hi Nick I ve had a play around with your software and its very straight forward and does what it says on the tin (I like it ) Just a possible suggestion on your table , Is it possible to do a table that replicates the Romelee table that Chykensa has put in place? I think you will get a bigger take up of forum users as i would be very reluctant to add to the format Chykensa has put together but tied with your software i think the ease of uploading to the recipe section here whilst keeping the format already in place would be a big plus. Nice work so far Ps probably alot of work but what about a link option to ingredients that people could put in place(eg coffee caramel ,flavour arts as a live link)

Collaboration ... Hmmm I can see the advantages. However I would not want to suggest that the program is lacking in any way ... I am quite happy with it as it stands ...
