Unexplained things in photos.

Now. Before I start I'm an open minded sceptic. I've seen a lot of pics etc but they always look fake or like a double exposure etc.

Has anyone ever taken a photo that had something odd in that wasn't there/you can't explain?

I lost my mum in December. And was looking through pics I'd taken on my phone a few nights back. This particular photograph is of my mum and my best friends new baby in a wether spoons the day before her chemo started. The whole family got together to wish her luck.

We were sat in a booth with an extra table on the side. At the end of the meal I took a few pics of the kids with my mum etc.

Looking at it a few nights ago there's a finger in the photo attached to nothing. There was nobody at that side of my mum, the wall was there. I was the other side of the table. It looks as though it is in her pocket, but her pocket is facing the wrong way for that to be the case. I can't think of an explanation for it at all.

So has anyone ever done this? Did you figure out what it was?

I have had unexplained photos in the past with film. I have a alway passed it to one side as being a double exposure. But they did have me searching trying to find an explanation I never did find out where those ghostly images came from.

That's what I thought at first. I don't know if you can have double exposure with digital photos?

I don't think you can with digital but I may be wrong, I am looking forward to seeing the photo, I have always been a skeptic but something happened earlier this year that changed my mind. It was very creepy.

Right. Sorry it wasn't up earlier. Doing this on my mobile so hope it's not too big. I've cropped the kids out from the left of the photo but other than that its exactly as it was when taken.

At risk of sounding ridiculous, does the finger look familiar?

It's not ridiculous. That's what we first looked it. If anyone who was there recognised the finger. But no, it doesn't. I've shown all my friends and family and nobody recognises it. We've even held it next to some hands to compare lol.

It is sad though because its the only picture we have of my mum with the baby before she passed.

Having looked closer the finger is not a young finger, its quite old 60+ it is quite spooky. Because of the position it wouldn't be someone holding the finger over the lens plus its to sharp. Has there been anyone who has passed away recently who would have missed seeing the baby.

Not that I can think of.

I took the photo on my iPhone from across the table. The babies mum was standing next to me. My mum had a wall once side and the kids the other.

The side the finger is is the wall side. It came be something coming out of her pocket because the opening of her pocket is the other side. The only other person there old enough to be attached to the other end of that pic was my Aunty but she's 4ft5" and had the tiniest hands so can't be her. Everyone else is under 35.

Could be a belt , as for being a finger the nail looks to small for that size of finger.

I have just had a play with the brightness to see if I can make out a hand, there is nothing even the edges blend correctly into the jacket, have you any photos on your phone with hands in that position.

After zooming in on the picture it looks like its something knitted in pink with a pink ball with a white stripe , as if its a button / ball fastener. ?

It's the arm on the chair isn't it Jerri, or am I looking at the wrong thing. ???
