Blownupdolly... feeling for you and your SIL. I'm often in his position, when my youngest lad either goes on holiday or is away for a few days with his work, and I take on the cat sitting duty. He also has 3, and although they are used to going out when he is there, I will not let them anywhere near an escape route. They can sit there crying at the door all day, they're not going out! I just dread the thought of telling him on his return that any of them are missing. He always says, don't worry, as one in particular will go for a wander and return in a few days. I'm sure this will have a happy ending.

SHE'S HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Literally walked in 10 minutes ago!! I had only just got out of bed and was putting the kettle on. Suddenly, she leaps up on the counter meowing VERY loudly. I burst into tears. She has got through two sachets of food plus biscuit!! Now she is here sitting on my chest pushing her nose all over my face purring so loud I can't hear the TV  never seen a cat behave so emotionally. Even Honey the dog is excited. She ran up to her wagging her tail and they touched noses. I think she definitely must have been locked in somewhere. You can tell by her behaviour just how grateful she is to be home. As I type, she has settled down on the arm of my chair, still purring. All is now well with the world. |

Thanks peeps.
She has now curled herself up in a ball on the sofa. Fast asleep. I don't think I will need to keep her in. She looks like she doesn't want to go anywhere for the foreseeable future.
Isn't it daft how attached we get to animals?
