Thanks again, I figured there would be many factors that affect the length of time the liquid lasts. The guide that freefromsmoking linked to looks very comprehensive so i'm going to have a good read of that later.
I'm so glad I joined this forum, I only stumbled across it as I googled to see if there were any customer reviews from people using the same product as me!!

yeah, 2ml a day on average....even on a dct. At joosejuice's prices (Di linked to them above) even with postage, you're looking at around £3-ish or less a week for your juice... just make sure you use the correct nic strength for you

If you did want something more like your look-a-like cig (in that it uses pre-filled cartomisers instead of getting juice) then you could try these: www.cavecom.com/screwdriverSD/shopSD/sdkeyring.shtmlI bought these after finding the look-a-likes rubbish. I have now also bought the kits you are being recommended here, and juices, but I still use my SD keyrings all the time because they're so small, easy and reliable.

It's a bit like comparing apples and oranges but a rough rule of thumb Is 1ml of juice is about 10 analogues, but as you go along the way you vape becomes Very different from the way you used to smoke.

Yes I vape very differently to how I smoked, because once you light up a ciggie you don't stop until it's all smoked - when actually you have probably had enough half-way through but you're not going to waste the rest of the cig. With vaping, I can take a couple of puffs, put it down or just hold it, then take a couple of puffs a few minutes later or an hour later, depending on what I fancy. I no longer have the first thing in the morning "urgency" to get nicotine. It feels different now - calmer. I probably vape a lot more often than I smoked, but in much smaller doses each time.

As an ex 30 a day smoker (off them just over 5 years now ) I would, like perpatua use about 4 - 5 ml a day but I am using double coil iClear 30 clearos which are renowned juice guzzlers.

Ditto, I use 4-7ml a day partly because the iClear16s are guzzlers. Evods use less liquid in my experience. I vape very low nic, because I vape a lot. I have tried with higher to stop myself vaping so much ... still chain vaped just made me feel ill It is all about habits. I am sure that I could vape a lot less with out any problems, I'm just a fidget, and so I can't put the silly thing down When I'm out doing stuff I often forget to vape at all, and I don't get the withdrawal feelings that I got when I was smoking. Same thing in the morning, I often forget to vape until breakfast is well and truly over and everyone has left, that would never have happened when I was smoking. I needed a cig before I could even think of saying good morning, let alone actually do anything. Daft really since that first cig always made me feel dreadful :/.

All excellent advice, on the juice front I use about 2-3ml a day. Started on an 18mg nicotine level juice but then dropped to 12mg. I initially I would mix two have bottles together to give me approx 15mg levels as I worked down. When I was on the stinkies I was doing about 15-20 a day. On a normal month now I spend about £15a month on ejuice, so a massive saving to the £150-200 I spent on cigs a month!

Thanks so much for all your help, really appreciated. I have never been too keen on trying the type that involves using liquid but I think it's clear that they are the way to go to avoid the problems I have encountered with the OK brand, certainly for home use anyway. I felt exactly the same as you when I first delved into e-cigs, but once I tried a friends Provari (very expensive mod) with a tank system fitted, I realised that cartridges, although convenient were never going to cut the mustard. You will not believe how much flavour and throat hit are available to you by upgrading and trust me, once you have got used to filling and refilling cartomisers or tanks, you will never look back. Be prepared to spend a good £100 or so in the first month and never lose sight of how much cigarettes cost you on a daily basis. I messed about with cig-a-likes for about 3 months until I upgraded. From the first go with my Provari, almost 12 months ago, I have not had a puff of tobacco. Trust me, you're going to be so chuffed when you upgrade.

HI wanttoquit, and welcome to the forum. All good advice above so far, so I'll just remind you to keep asking any questions you may have, we've all been there before and hopefully can help you. I use about 2-3ml of juice every day, and usually at about 12mg (1.2%) strength. You might want to look at one of our forum members giles' excellent guide to vaping and the terminology you might encounter - HERE

but i'm beginning to wonder whether more expensive brands may actually turn out to be better value in the long run. Welcome. Where do I begin? (I haven't read the entire thread....) If you buy a supposedly better brand, you will be even more disappointed. I was using a brand that charged £3.99 per refill cartomiser....and using two a day (on about 4 batteries). These little e-cigs are just very, very poor value. If you want to stick with a small cig-a-like product....there are some out there, but not where you might expect. Certainly not skycigs or nicolites and "double-certainly" not E-Lites. In this market, price is an indication of the ambition and greed of the brand. The more you charge = the more people believe the product is superior. It is categorically NOT true with e-cigs.

Just as a matter of interest Wantoquit, from what I saved in not buying fags over the past year but still buying rather a lot of vaping equipment, we went out and bought ourselves a caravan a few months ago!!!!
Now I am sitting here with lots of "shineys" enough e-juice to do me for the next 11 years, a study like a fog making machine and a unit that will give us lots of lovely holidays for the foreseeable future.
Oh, and my cough has mysteriously disappeared too!

Thanks again to everyone for the invaluable advice. I'm going to go for the E VOD starter kit and see how I get on with that.
I assume that the Bottom Coil Heads (the starter kit comes with 5) have a certain lifespan before they need replacing.
