I Googler before I bought any cig-a-likes, came across this forum, got myself a Riva. All I wanted to do was to be able to replace the roll ups I had whilst my shop was open so I didn't stink whilst serving my customers.
Cut down to about 5 a day and saw the potential vaping had as a stopping aid. Bought some higher strength eliquid, found the right flavour and the rest is history. With the exception of one week in may where 12.5 g of baccy lasted me a week I have not looked back.
Very rarely do I even think about smoking now, it does still cross my mind during stressful times and I have had a lot lately. Wouldn't say I would never go back to smoking, but I much prefer vaping and hope I never go back to smoking.

Unfortunately I have had a bit of a tough time with vaping. I got caught in the over research loop and brought everything. Started on a basic kit from Jak vapour did more research and found a whole new shiny world! Brought a ego kit next with ce4's and loads of different juices but couldn't find anything to suit so all the while still smoking. Next was a twist with some carto tanks and brough myself a mixing kit and about 40 different flavour concentrates (I went mad!). Still not finding a nice juice and setup I brought a vamo from vapourbreak and tried again, nothing I really did want to give up so I didn't give up I booked a hotel in Tamworth and scooted on down to Vapefest 2013. It was a fantastic day (mentally busy!) and met some lovely people who gave me some sound advice and I finally found 2 juices that I love (Red astaire and Forest affair from T-juice) I told Nigel from T-juice (top bloke) of my struggle with finding a decent juice and he gave me a big enough supply of Forest affair to last until they launched it on their website so with all good intentions I thought right this is it now no more fags. That lasted 2 days I don't no what's wrong! I've ordered a mech Mod and have got myself a kick (Thanks Super-Shiny) in my last ditch attempt to find the perfect set-up and loose the fags for good. I'm only on 2 a day opposed to 10-15 but for some reason vaping gives me toothache so I'm off to the dentist also. Thank you to everyone that has helped me on this forum it's brill and hope this works so hurry up fasttech with my order!

Yes I truly did Siffy . . . because I'd seen how well Chrissie, Scylla and some of the other long term vapers had done.
So I bought a DSE901 kit and got on very well with it, for all of a week as the atomisers that came with it went pop and whilst I waited for replacements, I bought some cigarettes. Vaping got put on the back burner for a year after that set back.
I did have another go, when I finished at my shop and had less stress in my life . . . the rest is now history.
My only regret is not having the kit available then that there is now, I wouldn't have wasted a year smoking had there been. Finding an enjoyable flavour to use has never been a problem for me, I hated the taste of tobacco so just to get a passing resemblance to a ciggy was good enough for me. Now I embrace all the lovely flavours available with a passion.
Researching anything doesn't interest me, I'm too lazy for starters and I think it's very easy to get bogged down with too much information.
So for me personally, having some great advice in the first instance and eventually some reliable simple equipment was key.

Thank you to everyone that has helped me on this forum it's brill and hope this works so hurry up fasttech with my order! So sorry you've had a tricky start I did too so can understand how you must feel. It took me a good 8 weeks to finally switch and be 100% happy with the switch. I read on the web it took 3 to 6 months for some people to make a total transition so I wouldn't worry. Two cigs is much better than 10-15 so you're doing brilliant. Maybe trun your thinking round and say right, I can have 2 cigs a day no problem, no biggy, then it might help? It doesn't always work but sometimes a change of thought can remove the pressure, relax you and you enjoy the vaping more. It worked for me. Please let us know how it's going as I will be rooting for you, maybe start a blog on here? I gave so much thought power to the cigs, seriously! The Allen Carr Easyway book has finally helped in removing the illusion that I had about them, it might help you too.

Initially I wasn't so sure. I tried the Skycig several months back as a work colleague purchased 2 by mistake. So he sold me one, and a pile of cartos. I reduced my cig consumption on them, but didn't see them as an end to actual smoking. I lost the charger after a few weeks anyway, and so that was that. Couldn't be bothered buying them again, and couldn't find a replacement charger, so in the drawer they went and back to smoking.
Then, a few months later, saw my friends in-laws had given up smoking with decent gear. I was curious. The linked me up to a blister pack from Paradise Vapes, I ordered some juice with it, and the morning they arrived, I basically quit smoking. I think laziness played a big part, as I couldn't be hooped looking for my back-up cigs, or going to the shop for more, so that was that.
That was on the 16th July. I have since smoked around 10-12 cigs, 2 when I was partying (well the morning after), and both the clearos I had with me were leaking. And 10 on Thursday morning there when I was on my way to Norway (which didn't happen), and was under the impression vaping was illegal there.
In that time though, I have spent far too much on vaping gear. So much so, that even at generous cig prices, I am still £80 down on where I would have been if I had still been smoking. I'll get there though. 10 more days of not smoking and I'll break even.
BUT, I am off again to the airport today, and hopefully this time I will make it to Norway, where I WILL smoke. And I am not even slightly worried about it. I will do it out of necessity and nothing more. I gave up out of curiosity really, rather than a will to give up. I am not really bothered about it either way, but I do prefer to vape than to smoke now, so I am sure the transition back from smoking to vaping will be fine. I will be finding out the script for vaping while I am at work in Norway, for next time, but this time, I have some NRT, and will see what happens.

I won't give up! and thank you for your luck about the dentist I hate them! Have to go and have my wisdom teeth out first at the hospital ahhhh! Then I got to go back to the dentist think I need a root canal as it's just the 1 tooth that when I vape (eat and drink) its excruciating so that doesn't help so 100% effort once that's done and I won't give in this time I'm ready to do it.

Safe journey xs2man. I have been lucky that I didn't catch the shiny bug and am about £400 in the green now. Vaping is going to make a dream come possible for my in two years as it will mean we can afford to take the girls back to Florida without robbing Peter to pay Paul to get there. I used to spend about three grand a year on cigs so now if I pop away two grand over the two years it will cover our park tickets bill. Add that to the holiday money I put away each month and we honestly can go. Smoking would never have allowed that to happen so I praise vaping for harm reduction, huge cost reduction and in getting us back to Florida, exciting times.

I thought I'd cut down with E-cigs and two days later I was vaping full time. Then I ran out of cartos after two days (that's when I found out about the one carto being like 40 smokes lie.) I ordered a Riva kit and smoked for the two days till it arrived. Since then I've been a vaper. I had a couple of smokes a month or so later but they tasted horrible and even though I was drunk I went back to my e-cig that night and haven't touched one since.
Still get the urge occasionally when at home, my wife smokes and sometimes old cravings kick in but I vape through it.

Me and Mrs Poo decided to get fit and lose some excess weight at the beginning of 2012 which we took to really well as it turned out, so all this year we were kicking around the idea of packing in, then a good friend of ours died of a heart attack on 6th April. He was a lovely fella, not overweight, good diet, moderate drinker but had smoked 20 a day for years. He'd had no health issues and no outward signs that he wasn't in as good nick as anyone else, and then he wasn't there anymore and the following day after reeling from the shock we gave up. I think we used gum for about a week but we were both finding it tough, I picked up a disposable from the newsagent more for Mrs Poo if I recall because she was doing my head in lol, but we found that they helped a good deal more than gum and we kitted ourselves out with a couple of rechargeable s and some cartomisers. I'd never even seen an ego type system but I'd heard somewhere that carto's could be refilled, so researching that I ended up here and the rest, as they say, is history.

Looking back at my first vaping experience, makes me realise that I put no effort in at all and had no confidence with my ability to quit using e cigs. I had a smoked for well over twenty years and actually liked certain parts of smoking. The next time around I was armed with more knowledge, I had been on various vendor websites, forums and felt a bit more confident. I found that my PG heavy juice wasn't helping, so ordered something with more VG, much better. This forum has helped, lots of info, members who are willing to answer questions, a friendly atmosphere and when people are struggling lots of positive comments to keep them going. I can honestly say that vaping has stopped me smoking and I know for sure 100%, that I'll never smoke another cigarette again
