Hi,i have only been Vaping for 5 weeks.I used to smoke 30-40 of B&H a day sometimes 50 a day for 30 year. After looking online about Vaping,i started off using 18mg e-liquid as was recommend for the amount I used to smoke. The first night I used 18mg,after just 5 or 6 puffs I felt spaced out, anyway puffed away for a bit more, and got a slight Headache and felt slightly sick, also I could,nt sleep all night.Same the next day.I do realise my body had to get used to Vaping.Anyway I dropped down to 12 mg,as most e-cig forums say this would do a light smoker on 10 a day. And have been vaping 2-3ml of 12 mg a day,no headaches,no sickness. But I get this slight euphoric feeling ,slight high, and Brain Fog feeling. My Wife says im Constantly chatting, and noticed that I have this highness, and i agree cause I feel this slight high. Now im going to try 6mg and see how I feel, cause I don't like that :hit: im getting. Why is this though?? Surely after smoking so much for a lot of years I should,nt feel like this with 12mg?? Also I get confused with how much 1ml of e-liquid is equivalent to in fags? Some say a 10 ml bottle is like 100 fags?? Some say a 10ml bottle is 200 Fags??

Everyone's body is different in how it reacts to the nicotine inhaled in eliquid Ray, I know of people who vape 48mg as the norm. Like you I smoked 40/50 a day for the best part of 36 years and I'll vape anything from 10mg - 24mg depending on the time of day and my mood. There's no hard and fast really, it's what suits you and keeps you nicotine satisfied. I wouldn't worry about how many fags is equivalent to 1ml of eliquid, vape when you fancy and enjoy it.

I also used to smoke on average 50 cigs a day. I've used 36mg e-liquid in the past but now mainly stick to 24mg & never been high/light headed with it. I think tez could be right.

What tez said is what came to mind to me when I read your post, how hard are you going at it? pardon the expression it sound to me like you might be hyper ventilating a little to me.

There is no rule of thumb here. It looks as though some people absorb nicotine differently. So if 2 people smoked exactly the same and then switched to vaping exactly the same juice it can turn out that Joe was absorbing more nicotine from the cigarettes than Mary but Mary gets more nicotine from vaping than Joe. I could suggest some reasons for this but it would probably overcomplicate things.

I get moments of nicotine "high". I think most of us probably know the feeling. I roll with it. Works for me. I got a big 'un just two days ago on some 18mg juice, having only vaped a pathetic 1/2ml that day. I guess like tobacco, it hits you stronger the less you've been taking. and alcohol and coffee

Please do, I'm genuinely interested - and I'm sure I'm not alone. Son't spare the horses with the explanation, it will be useful to know

Please do, I'm genuinely interested - and I'm sure I'm not alone. Don't spare the horses with the explanation, it will be useful to know One simple reason is down to the way you vape and inhale. A bigger factor is what goes into cigarettes and tobacco. Chemicals are added to cigarettes to increase the amount of nicotine you absorb. Since they have a physiological effect they are essentially drugs. We all have a different physiology and these chemicals will be more effective on some people than others. When a pharmaceutical company comes up with a drug that has markedly different effects on different people, they'll try and modify it, if they can't and the differences are too great then they can't market the drug. This is not a problem for the tobacco companies. When we vape we inhale more nicotine than we do when we smoke but we don't absorb so much of the nicotine. For example 20 Benson and Hedges contain 24mg of nicotine. 3ml of 18mg eliquid contains 54mg of nicotine. I am no expert on this so somebody may be able to give you a better picture. I read that in the last 20 years the tobacco companies gained approval for the addition of 4000 different chemicals to cigarettes. I don't know if this is spot on or an exaggeration.

It's interesting . . . smoking and being able to successfully leave the ciggies behind, isn't just about getting a nicotine hit for many of us. Hand to mouth/seeing vapour have always been as important for me.
Elements that conventional NRT just don't deliver.
