I have just had a chat with my Nicotine Supplier (for clarity, they are the biggest pharmaceutical manufacturer of Nicotine in the UK, and have been involved in government talks on this subject).... They (although still digesting the available information), are of the opinion that "Business to Business" sales of nicotine at levels lower than the prescribed poisons licence limit (currently 75mg/ml) will carry on. As for end users/customers (end sales, i.e. Business to user) will be controlled at 30mg/ml max level.... This is were the detail of the regulation will come in (in time) but it would be reasonable to suspect it will require business to demonstrate compliance and maybe being on a list of "veted" or licenced business, the final regulating detail of the "however and whatever" will need to be decided on, by whatever regulating authority is responsible. I think it may (again in time) restrict the DIY market, and also smaller businesses and vendors who mix themselves and currently operate without the appropriate H&S, cleanrooms, quality controls, insurances, etc, etc. But, time will tell.... it may all change in the blink of an eye.... so we need to keep fighting. Indeed & because I'm a pedantic pessimistic optimist (fear the worst but hope for the best) I would some like some clarification what the next step is. It's my basic understanding that this now goes to the Council of Ministers, now please bare with me cos this is as much as I could find out without my head finally exploding. The Council of Ministers is the 'Council of the European Union' not the 'European Council', 2 completely different things The Council of Ministers then breaks up into smaller groups called 'configurations' which are basically specialist areas, so the TPD will go before the 'Employment, Social Policy, Health & Consumer Affairs (EPSCO) or Health Council. (I think) Unlike the EU Parli committees, when one 'configuration' makes a decision it then becomes the decision of the entire Council. Each 'configuration' is made up of 28 national ministers, one from each EU member Country. So that's the basics, but what I can't find out is who are the 28 ministers for EPSCO or the Health Council. This would be useful info if just to know which political group / party they come from as this may well influence things. We need to remember that it was the Liberal & Conservative group in the EU Parli who made the most massive strides in turning the tide for us, & the Socialist, Labour & Green groups who were standing against us. If anyone could add anything this would be helpful cos I think the TPD goes before the Council in December, so again only a matter of weeks to try & influence the Powers that Be.

Unfortunately it would appear that the British Government still intends to regulate E-cigs as medicines despite this EU vote, so sadly the fight goes on, albeit with MP's instead of MEP's.
Fingers crossed 1.3 million vapers can influence a political U-turn, especially with an election coming-up.

After managing to "convert" EU MEPs, UK MPs should be childs play especially as we are their constituents and we live in their areas. Harder to say "**** off I hope you die!" to someone who you might meet in the street, buy your fish and chips from or you rely on to vote for you to keep your job.

There have already been serious legal opinions, including one from the EU's own legal committee, JURI that you cannot turn nicotine into a medicine just because you want too, plus it's already tried in 5 EU countries & overturned in the courts.

Yes as far as I know we have the political route with our MEPs and if they won't listen the law will be on our side (that would probably require vendors and ECITA though I guess.)

Really? So equal marriage is not a good thing? What?, I cant even see the word Marriage mentioned. And since when did AAEC have ANYTHING to do with Marriage?, it does however have allot to do with politics in general, well this topic specifically.

I see, so your comment meant that our national coalition government have done nothing else good about electronic cigarettes?
So then how are "bankers" relevant to AAEC? You bring them up in every damned thread!

Can we please stop turning all of AAEC into a political argument forum, we may have an influx of new users with the voting and press coverage from today and constant bickering isn't going to warm their views of this forum. Apart from that I think all vapers deserve some R&R after today and the chance to kick back and not worry for a little while (hopefully with lots of alcohol and juice)

That's why I'd rather they regard us as engaged, responsible members of a democracy, which is what we have to celebrate today, rather than a hotbed of retarded libertarian ideology. I'll leave it at that.
