If he thinks for one second that he was a better choice for captain than Shearer or Beckham, he has finally lost the plot.

As for the whole being captain for ten years thing,  he played for England for 11 years.  How many players captain any national side within a year, let alone a major nation like England?

I'm following a turn £25 into £5000 betting thing on FB and today's bet was... a double on Spurs and Barca to win.

The last couple of hours have reminded me why I never bet on Spurs. I'd have been nervous enough without a few quid on the game.

My thoughts on some of the above:

I genuinely think there is still a racist element in football, but Sol Campbell is deluding himself if he thinks he could have been England captain ahead of Shearer and Beckham. It's purely a money thing - goal scorers and international playboys sell more shirts than centre backs with questionable loyalty.

I didn't see the spurs game, but listening to it on the radio it seemed like the usual underachieving performance. Still, I'll take the three points gratefully.

Alan Pardew should be sacked, 6 year contract or not, that's gross misconduct and anyone else in any other job would be getting their P45. Get Laudrup in.

pardew has been fined of newcastle and has had a formal warning that is the situation delt with in ashleys eyes, he is obv going to get a touchlina ban and fined off fifa or ueaf or whatever, laudrup is over rated i wouldnt want him at newcastle, pardew is mental but up here we like characters like that
