Hi All, I was browsing the interwebs for advice on maintaining Evods when I stumbled upon this forum. That was about 2 hours ago, I've been reading posts ever since! Thought I'd better make it official like and join up and say hello! I am still pretty new to this game but what I have experienced so far I am very pleased, well mostly pleased but also frustrated. I bought an ego starter kit, then a pro tank, then another ego battery, then a spinner, then some evods, then a vivi nova all in the space of about 2 weeks I got the bug bad heh. My days and nights were filled with dreams of RDAs and gennies and shiny shiny things. I was given an Igo-L dripper to try out and bought myself and Igo-S too. I was so caught up in acquiring new things for my new obsession that I almost forgot about the actual vaping side of it... Then I watched a very inspiring video by pbursardo, wrapping up 2013 and at the end he gave some sound advice. Something that really echoed in my head "don't try to run before you can walk" I realised that was exactly what I was doing! I was going too fast, getting frustrated that I could not get it to work like the pros (I had been building coils for about 4 days at this point). So I have decided to take a step back, relax and just learn to enjoy vaping for its own sake. It might be worth mentioning I was still smoking the odd cigarette at this time (even though I didn't particularly enjoy them any more). My last one was at 11.55pm on the 31st December 2013 and I don't intend to have another. This is something else I lost sight of, the whole reason I took the plunge. Something that I will remember moving into 2014. ~Adam (currently relaxing with an Evod+Ego 650mAh with a drop of Longbottom Leaf)

Hi Adam and welcome to AAE-C The advice about learning to walk is good advice. I started in november with the evod kit (which I still love) and now have a few Protank minis, to try glass tanks, and a Vision Spinner to learn about voltage and vaping. I've started mixing my own juice which seems successful, and tried doing recoiling which has been a lot less successful so far, but will keep at it as I know I'm capable of making good ones eventually The main reason I am able to try doing these things is because of all the help and advice I find in this forum. Congratulations on going 24 hours without a ciggie, that really is a great start

Hey up Adam, fairly new myself but already have bought a new svd and made my own juice, this forum has that effect on you lol.
Ps tested my new juice and the verdict is it's a success.

to the forum Adam. If what you are vaping now is good enough to get you off the fags, can I suggest you set yourself a budget for future vaping spend? Cos if you don't this forum will have you spending your life savings.

Hi Adam, You have opened the door to a new experience and a forum full of knowledge about vaping, any questions always answered, help is always at hand on here if you ask for it. Take your time to absorb all the information you read about vaping and the equipments available, that way you won't waste your hard earned money buying stuff you don't really need, start at the bottom and work your way up to the top mods and shinies. Enjoy yourself.

Thanks for the welcome and sound advice guys.
So far so good with the not smoking thing, I think I will do exactly as you suggest and keep with the kit I have and save my cigarette money to buy some shiny shiny things at a later date (I will be keep an eye on here for advice on what and where from). One thing I have noticed though is I am getting thirsty more. Vaping seems to dry my mouth out a lot, not that its a problem as I have taken to keeping a bottle of water with me to sip. Drinking more water too can only be a good thing, its like a double whammy!

Hi Rumdog and Yep, vaping definitely dehydrates you. I, too, am drinking a lot more water and peppermint tea than I used to

Hello and welcome Rumdog, Nice intro post and good luck on your vaping journey. Look after that starter kit, they are simple and they work. When all else fails and you are puling your hair out it will be there waiting in the wings. It's better to have a basic vape than a dirty stinky!
