Hello. I gave up cigarettes 18 months ago, but due to stress bought myself an E Cig from the shop. I have tried two. The Vype, (like smoking fresh air) and the E-Lite which I have been happy with for the time being (but its giving me terrible headaches, flushing and migraines!) I am prone to migraine but this is constant. I read that there are two contents to the E cigs, Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin and that maybe the Vegetable Glycerin wouldn't cause the headaches. Can anyone confirm this and most importantly, can someone point me in the direction of an E-Cig that is similar to the E-Lite that has the Vegetable Glycerin and hopefully I wont get the bad heads.
Thanks for any information. Christine

Hi Christine sounds more less overdoing the nicotine if you haven't smoked for a while maybe a very low or zero nic would be better

Hi cmocI agree with babs. Doesn't sound right to me... although E-Lites are not exactly good at providing nicotine. ??? How much did you smoke? Maybe, (if you don't need major nicotine "alternatives") you could consider this allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/34428/review-myepack-power-pcc-starterYou could easily buy this type of thing and fill up "blank" cartomizers with low strength VG liquid. Despite my review, it's not ideal for heavy smokers, but you're not that.

Actually, in hindsight having re-read... you have been clean for 18 months. Almost any strength of liquid will give you headaches.... even the ubiquitous and thoroughly over-priced rubbish brand that is "the favourite e-cig in the UK".

One outfit that sells low nic VG juices is NUCIG. I wouldn't buy anything else from them though. I haven't tried Paradise vape, but they also do low nic high VG juices, and do kits at a decent price. Personally I'd recommend getting a couple of these rather than sticking to something that looks like a cigarette.

Also Vaping is known to dehydrate you.
Dehydration is a common headache/migraine trigger, we always recommend upping your liquid intake when vaping.
It is the Propylene Glycol (PG) that is the ingredient that causes dehydration, not nicotine or Vegetable Glycerine.
I believe that both Elites and Vype's contain high PG liquids.
So a move to a high VG liquid is recommended, however I don't think that is a option with the E-cigs you've been using, so I'd recommend you switch to a E-cig kit recommended above and switch to a high VG liquid, you can find links to liquid vendors in the vendors section of the forum.
HTH.

Hello & welcome Christine I agree with DiscoDes - the headaches could be caused by dehydration.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Loads of good information there. I never thought about dehydration. I will up the fluid intake. The Vype never gave me headaches, just the E Lites but then I am using it a lot more. I agree I am probably using overpriced and the more rubbish brands, I want to get on to something better eventually, it would be nice to be able to test something out though before spending out too much on one I didn't like, shame they don't do samples of all of them! After 18 months of no cigarettes, my stress levels were still much higher than before when I smoked, as soon as I had a nicotine supply again I am much calmer, so I want to continue to use an E cig. Thanks Discodes, the high VG liquid E Cig sounds like good advice. I will check out the vendors section on the forum. Christine
