Read this story on BBC news earlier... absolutely shocking! And to top it all "Visitors, including children, were invited to watch while the giraffe was dissected and fed to the lions" There were crowds of people gathered to watch  |

I just don't get it.
It's certainly not right, but why?? Their excuse isn't a legitimate excuse as far as I am concerned.
I remember when they did the cull at Knowlsley, I swore I would never step foot in the place again. Absoloute discrace

While I can kinda see that they want to prevent genetic problems developing as they continue there breeding program shouldnt they just of prevented this happening in the first place by seperating family members... Assuming this is what has occurred.
And once the animal was born couldn't they just castrate it?
And it kinda sounds like they are trying to breed for good traits... I.e. they choose what is good traits.... Isn't this more like farming? What are they planning...super giraffes? As they are not choosing the traits in a natural environment they are in fact breeding them to be more healthy in a zoo... Which may make them less capable in the wild if reintroduced at some point if/ or when this is needed.
Anyhow the fact they dissected the animal in front of visitors, like some sort of freak show, some of them children even, doesn't sit right with me.

Yet another reason, while I will have regrets and worries for people that I leave behind, I won't be sorry to leave this earth. I really do hate this planet we live on, when it could be so beautiful, if it wasn't for the human race! Only one problem... what do we go into?
