Help. Burnt taste new mini protank

Got my delivery from fasttech this morning and opened my new mini protank 2 v2. Have filled it with juice and let it sit. I put it on my itaste vv and I'm just getting burnt taste. Everything is on minimum settings so I took it off and stuck it on my ego battery and still the same. What am I doing wrong?

It could just be a duff head, try the second one that came with it, and see what happens.

I didn't suck on it before firing it, could it be that? I forgot! Is that called priming?

A burnt taste is usually down to too little juice on the portion of the wick within the coil ... either through the wick being strangled by too tight a coil or or some other obstruction or insufficient juice feed to the wick itself.

Did you clean it before you put juice in?

I use 70% Glycerine ( diluted 20% with vodka) and find as it is thicker than high PG juices I need to remove some of the flavour wick in protanks. Usually you will find if you remove the tube off the head there are two flavour wicks as well as the main coil wick. I remove one of the wicks. Sometimes there is a bit of tweeking to do to get just the right amount of wick. I also check the coils are evenly spaced. If you remove too much wick you get gurgling, too little you get starvation of the juice and burning.

rednutt - I think you did nothing wrong - but those coils of fasttech just are not good - I say that of experience - have a great look at Super-Shiny 's thread about coiling yourself - ask numerous questions like I did - and have as a result great durable coils, that cost you peanuts

Haha, I usually wash them as sometimes there can be machine oil residue that can make it taste *puke*. As others have said, sometimes china heads can be a bit hit and miss which is why so many just make their own coils.

Awww Super-Shiny that's really kind of you. I only have those 2 that came with the protank. Other than that I've got kanger t3s and evod and iclear16 then a range of ce4 and ce5. It's my first venture with a glass tank and looks like it's not going well.
I really don't know anything about wicks and coils and what heads are the same. I'm going to try puffing on the second head and see what happens........yip this ones a burnt taste too!

This thread has got lost as so many do, but trying to get back on track without quoting everyone, yet trying to remember what has been said apart from how lovely your hair is and its shinys fave colour-

I don't wash the tanks first either.
I don't remove any flavour wick.
These things can help, but I am just saying I don't do them and don't usually have a problem.
Some heads work brilliantly, some work ok, some are burnt, or just dead nothing puffs from the word go.
If you got the genuine protank mini 2 v2 from fasttech it should be genuine heads, as they are in the package.

Once you have refilled with the new head in which I believe you have done, take a few sucks of it without the battery on.
Then half an hour should be plenty of time and try that one.
I would say 5 minutes but you are trying to test something so best to wait.
