Just keep testing....it took me months to get a handful of fantastic ones....I tried so many and didnt taste anything at all.....JJ being the worst now.... But my best mate loves JJ and can taste them perfectly.....she did smoke less then me tho.....maybe for us long term hard smokers we need stronger flavors to beat through all that yucky tar etc that has clogged up our taste buds.....never give up....there is a juice out there for everyone....but I do know how annoying it is to keep trying juice that others are raving over and tasting nothing at all........been there, done that and still doing it LOL

I had to have stronger flavoured juice to start with I got some concentrate from jj to add to what I had but now I mix my own and have it far weaker. I think my taste buds have recovered a bit. I never got on with the plastic drip tips so had to go for the stainless steel I could always taste the plastic maybe you are the opposite and need the iclear 16 type top coil tanks.

Perpetua I haven't tried any iclear 16s yet. I'll add those to the next shopping list and give them a go. Thanks! I think, without wishing to sound patronizing, that if you got right back to basics with equipment and found something that worked for you and was faff free . . . then the rest would follow more easily misst. The Iclear16's are just that, other than filling them up and swooshing your eliquid around occasionally to keep the coil supplied with juice, they are the most problem free piece of equipment I've had the pleasure of using.

Debbie13 thanks for this! I've been following your experiences in searching for juices on your other threads so I know what a struggle you've had at times! I've been so impressed by your tenacity and perseverance. Today is another day and I'm having another go (Although I gotta remember to order my weekly food shopping - got so caught up with all things vape yesterday that I forgot, so it's sandwiches for tea tonight!! Wahh!) How long did it take your tastebuds to come back babs ? I wasn't smoking a great deal before I tried vaping, I'd got it down to 5 - 10 skinny rollies a day but I have smoked all my adult life (apart from 5 years in my early 40s) and I'm 52 now. I was kinda hoping that the damage wouldn't be too bad, as when I gave up before my tastebuds sprang into action pretty soon after I quit. Perpetua you and babs may well have a point about the iclear 16s and the metal taste thing. These are definitely gonna be on my next shopping list. There has been method to my madness in my choice of tanks so far, I promise! But I may have been trying to run before I can walk and trying out too many new things at once. I'm currently chugging reasonably happily on my original ego 1100 with t2s which are top coil and plastic/polycarbonate drip tip and tank, and the 60/40 pg/vg mocha juice from jj. Back to basics and I'll see how I go enjay I'm in Edinburgh near Holyrood Park

Keep running, that's what I say, I had my first genesis atty within a month or so of starting, just had to keep at it till I got it working how I wanted. Coil, wick, atty and mod can all make a difference to the whole experience. Now stop being a big girls blouse and get it sorted

Hi misst I smoked for around 50 years and between 20 - 40 a day all that time. Looking back now it didn't take long for my taste buds to return around 3 months. I did go through the stage of no taste so had a menthol/fruit mix then and still sometimes use it. My food tastes so much better too but I haven't eaten more just enjoyed it more so my weight has stayed quite static. Hope you get sorted soon it's well worth it.

I follow that great tip from Babs and put a few drops of menthol into my current juice for a day or 2 if my taste buds go a bit odd (I don't even normally like menthol) but it works great for me, hope it does for you too And I agree also - the iclear 16s are great and so easy to use

As for the drip tips, I too cannot use anything with a stainless steel tip otherwise anything tastes like a dirty penny, I like the plastic ones, feel more natural and there is no taste to them for me.....maybe stick to the acrylic tips....it can be a bit of a faff only buying certain tanks that can either be changed or already come with the right tip....but it is worth it in the long run The faff I have been through just in the last 2 days is silly but again just got to stick to it and keep on trying...it does help that hubby vapes too......daughter spends allot of time with her BF and is a part time vaper, once she gets her things from Fastech she will be knocking the stinkies on the head too.....it really does help when you are surrounded by others who love vaping

I think there's a good deal of truth there misst, better to master one thing before you move on to the next maybe? I am also guilty of exactly the same thing It is terribly tempting I'm the first to admit . . . I guess when I and many others started on this wonderful vaping journey of ours, there simply wasn't the fantastic selection of kit or eliquids that there are available now. So we had to get on with what we had, which wasn't much in all honesty. Buying a drip tip and using that, was my first real ' upgrade '. If all this stuff comes naturally to you, then all well and good, crack on with it . . . but if you're more of a tortoise ( like me ) then getting some confidence from small successes, helps make the next stage come more easily and enjoyable. That's my thinking anyhow.
